There were a million black specks woven into the fabric. They weren't just colored spots -- I can pick some out with my fingernail, and they didn't wash out. You can see them in the enlarged photo of the fabric! It reminds me of ants (or pieces of ants). I am going to stitch something that covers the fabric or I would have returned it. Also, the fabric stretched where it was folded so the weave was uneven at that point. I have never seen that happen before. I hope that when I stitch over those lines, they will blend in and not create lines in my stitching. FYI, the fabric was VERY heavily starched. Great if you like that but I have found that it wears the embroidery floss out so I had to wash the fabric before using it.
