Having only recently discovered that my aging OptiPlex had connector for these things right on the motherboard, I decided to get one big enough for my 1.2TB music collection and several operating systems (mostly Linux). I've been really impressed by the speed overall, on Linux in particular. Boot times that seemed fast already with SATA SSD are now noticeably faster - so fast that there often isn't more than a flicker of a custom boot logo thing (plymouth). Copying files between partitions is much speedier too. The entire process of moving everything over from a previous few disks took some time but was pretty simple and straightforward. I've now bought a couple more, one more for the Dell and one for the laptop. Looking forward to similar results. My only complaint with these things is the tiny screws and the manual installation of heat-sink stuff. It's all a bit fiddly, and the screws are hard to get started without a magnetized tiny screwdriver to keep it from disappearing inside your PC.It's really pretty amazing how far drive technology has come from the old spinning disks, and so quickly. Pretty soon components will be so small and powerful that your phone really will be as robust as your computer, which will have leapt forward in some other way, hopefully a non-evil one. Nvme? Not evil.

Tried to clone my existing 500GB ssd to it. Keep getting an error that the cluster allocation size is too big or something like that. Tried 2 different disk management tools. No luck.Works fine if I use it as a regular storage drive.

It does seem to have sped up transfers and OS installations, boot up wise it is similar to the SSD drive I had installed prior to this. Recently I read a report on someone's SSD drive failing. So far I have not had an SSD or NVME drive fail. Hope my luck holds.
