I just tried this thing out. I usually play a practice pad on a snare stand. This is great! The "drum head" is very solid rubber. The response is great! You strap this to your thigh. The positioning is very good, (and, you can move it.) It's only 6 inches. That is however, enough space to simulate playing a high-hat and a snare. Tap your right foot, and you have a bass drum. I'm impressed. Worth the money. Doesn't take much room at all. Can take it ANYWHERE. Cool invention! No more bruises on your leg. You can put other drum pads in place of the nice blue one. I don't think I'm going to rush into that. I like it this way. PW

It’s an inconvenient shape for storage when not in use, and I can’t use the practice pad on the same foot I’m practicing kick/hihat with. Otherwise, it’s an adequate practice drum pad.

I am not that husky but the strap will not reach the fuzzy part of the velcro on the belt. Needs another 3 or 4 inches. Other than that it is great. I will have to see if I might be able to engineer an extension of Velcro.

I bought this pad because of the price and the fact that it offers a screw mount to enable you to use other drum pads. I bought a Vic Firth 6” pad specifically to mount on this and it mounted perfectly and works great. What I noticed right away on opening this though was the very small size of the blue silicone pad that comes with this. It is advertised at 5 inches (130 mm), which is already an inch smaller than most small practice pads, but it looked even smaller. Sure enough, when I measured it the pad is only 4 3/4 inches (120 mm). That 1/4 inch is significant when the pad is already so small to begin with. The size should be advertised accurately. It should also be noted that the blue silicone pad that comes with this is not screw mountable and has to be stuck to the base with the included adhesive. Doing this effectively prevents you from swapping it out with another screw in pad without ripping off the adhesive. It would have been nice to have the stock pad screw mounted as well to be able to swap it out easily.Still a good value for the price, but be aware of what you are getting, and you might want to consider upgrading the pad to a larger, screw mountable model.
