This little siphon vacuum fills a pretty critical niche in my aquarium maintenance needs. I use it in a breeding tank to gently vacuum up debris from the bottom of the tank - it's small enough that with care I can avoid sucking baby fish up with the debris. And in a planted tank I can get between plant stalks to vacuum up debris that would otherwise not be reachable. The siphon is also quick and effective.

It works perfectly for my small aquarium that is heavily planted. I can reach the small corners to clean the sand without unrooting or destroying my plants. It makes the water change way easier too.

I got this not having any idea how to use it but I watched a few videos in this listing and was able to figure it out. I also have to manually scrub off any algae that forms on my tanks which is fine, just not super convenient. It works extremely well though on smaller tanks. I have a 6 gal, and it was so fast and easy to use.I took one star off because I have been using this to clean my 36 gal and it does the trick, but it takes forever to clean. If you get this make sure it is for a smaller tank maybe 10 gal or lower. My main gripe is that I have to go under the gravel to get the dirt and yuck from my big tank. Also, there's only one attachment that works for me to vacuum the gravel with and it gets gravel stuck in it every 30 seconds, so it slows down the cleaning process a bit; but I actually enjoy cleaning my bigger tank, so I don't mind how long it takes.

I am the new owner of a 5 gallon betta tank and I'm not an experienced fish tank person. Changing the water and cleaning the tank was a huge worry! After using this tool, I'm not worried anymore. It's easy!My son wanted a pet of his own and I told him we could get a gold fish in a bowl for the kitchen counter so he could enjoy it while eating breakfast, snacks etc. Little did I know that gold fish are not suitable for fish bowls. They get too big for them. I'm clearly a novice fish person.Anyways, long story short my son and I ended up leaving the pet store with 2 female betta fish, a split 5 gallon tank with a heater and a water filter and I had absolutely no idea what I was doing.I was told I need to change about a quarter of the water in the tank every week. Our tank is in a little cubby above a storage cabinet in our media console. This syphon is small enough that I can stick it into the tank without removing the whole set up from the cubby. I love the end attachments, they make it so easy to change the water. I even use the little sucker one to kind of vacuum the rocky area at the bottom. I don't worry about sucking up one of the fish or any rocks on accident because the tube is small and the attachments work so well.I syphon out the tank water into a 5.5L bin from the local restaurant supply store (the measurement lines on the restaurant bins make changing the water extra easy, hot tip), rinse the bin out then put it on top of the console and syphon the same amount of fresh water back in after adding the water conditioner. The whole process takes less than 15 minutes. Very little mess- I usually spill a little water when I remove the syphon from the tank after adding the fresh water. Not a product problem, just a user error every time. This is an awesome aquarium tool! If you have a small tank and don't know anything about aquariums, this is great, cheap and easy solution to water changes. Works perfectly for us and our new pets, Spike and Fin. Recommend!
