Liked the pilot point on these. Keeps your bit stationary where you want the hole and not walk. Thinner bits require caution when drilling as they are 12 inch long so let the bit do the work, don't push.

I was using these to build my deck. Most times drilling through 1 if not 2 4x4's at a time. Using most all of the bits from the 1/8" to drill pilot holes up to the 1/2" to finish. Worked well for the most part but at some point the 5/16" and the 7/16" bits untwisted leaving the bit crooked and unusable. I've never seen a bit untwist before. I would have sent them back, but I did use them quite a bit before they failed.

Boring a piece of oak to make a tool holder for my hex and star t-handle wrenches. Regular small drill bits were too short. These bits are not straight. Rolled them on the cast iron of my table saw and none of them was straight. At least 1/8 inch off the table at the high point. Was using a drill press and they wobbled so bad it was impractical to use. Ended up starting the holes with a standard bit and drilling to the desired depth with these long bit. That worked okay. The smaller bits are quite flexible, had to use minimal pressure or could see them bend. Cut well, though. Wish I had purchased another brand.
