Great replacement rope. A lot more sturdy than I imagined. I have three cats that have scratched through the original rope that came with their cat tower. This rope has extended the life on our tower and doesn't seem to be showing much wear after a few weeks of the cats using it.

Replaced the existing rope on my cat tree with this. While you can technically just wind it around the post, I used glue as base and then wound the rope for better fitment.Plenty sturdy and long. No smell as my cats immediately took to it. Highly recommended.

A lot of people like to use sisal rope for their cats' scratching posts, but I have found hemp rope to be much more durable and longer lasting. Being less brittle, it does not break off in little shreds and make a mess all over the house like sisal. This particular hemp rope has a slightly larger diameter than what I have used in the past, and I'm hoping the added thickness will hold up even longer. It has great density and was easy to wrap around the post. The larger size reduces the number of times you have to wrap it, of course. The cats are loving it and are naturally attracted to scratch on this texture. This is 38.2 feet of rope, not 38.2 inches like they put in the description of their product. There is enough rope to wrap a single 18" post, but despite the good quality, this shorter length is not the best value. If you plan to do multiple replacements or have a larger post, it is more economical to purchase a longer rope length, which usually comes on a spool.

First of all, this is more like 32 FEET instead of 32 inches. It wrapped about half of one of our 6-ft cat tower poles. It has stayed in place with normal wear. I haven't noticed significant shredding from it yet, but our carpet is about the same color, so it's not as noticeable as the cream colored rope it replaced. There was no off smell to it. It would take a lot of this stuff to recover all the cat tower poles.

Received this rope and immediate restrung my cat’s scratching post. This is a little thinner than the original, but it works well. Within minutes my cat was back to scratching.
