The fleece lining of this coat is enough to help keep warm on its own. However, the heating unit has worked great for my wife so far.

I purchased this for my wife. We live in Minnesota where the winters get brutally cold. My wife isn't very cold tolerant and winters were miserable for her. This jacket has changed her life. The jacket itself is a heavy jacket, it's wind proof and warm by itself. The jacket heats nicely and will last for several hours, she typically gets about 4 hours of heating on a single battery charge.The battery is held in a dedicated pocket on the outside of the jacket on the back side. It looks a bit weird, but it's practical and the jacket works. She's had the jacket for a year now and it still heats. The battery charger did short out. But the jacket and battery are both still operational.This jacket has given my wife back half of her year. She now doesn't feel like she's trapped inside when it's cold, she has the tools to go outside and be able to tolerate the cold now.I wanted also comment on the quality of this product. This jacket has a better construction than most of my clothing and that's from clothing brands. I was not expecting such a well made jacket from a tool company known for their battery products.

Bought a size up due to the reviews but honestly think I could of stuck with my normal size stays warm about 3-4 hours on high I hate the cold so it’s hard saying how long it stays warm on low I rarely put it on low. Has preheat option which comes in handy. My mom ended up buying 2 more in the men’s for my dad and brother who both loved them as well the only downfall is the battery pocket is kinda big when the battery is in it but that don’t bother me at all! The style is great as well has fleece on the inside so even if the battery dies it is still really warm. I choose to where this as my primary coat all the time I never thought I could be so excited about a coat until I got this. Way better then I could have ever expected!

I will never buy from this company again. No prepaid shipping label so I paid to return this product & have yet to receive a refund. I would be more understanding if they replied to any of my emails but they haven't.The pictures conveniently hides the gigantic pocket on the backside/hip (I wish I took a pic before shipping it back) it sticks out a few inches away from your body. I loved the style of the jacket itself & the fuzzy interior was great. The huge battery & obnoxious pocket was a deal breaker & honestly I don't think it got hot enough even with the big battery.

I bought it for my wife since she feels cold all the time. She enjoys the winter outside more than ever before. She is using it for 3 years now and it is still working great. She is using it spring and fall without the battery.
