I ordered these in a size 4 for my 10 year old, who is currently wearing a 3. I expected them to be a little big as I was buying the next size up to have on hand (as it always seems to be the case that dance shoes become "too tight" all of a sudden, and usually right before a recital or competition). These were much bigger than I expected even compared to her current shoe -which is a different brand. I would say they run about a half size big so it will be a little while before she can wear these.That being said, the style is super cute and convenient. We had gotten some oxford style shoes, and they aren't nearly as quick to put on and take off as the mary jane style - and that time savings can matter a lot when you have a short amount of time to change between dance performances. The bow is a cute addition and it is nice that you don't have to tie or untie it to put the shoes on. It just loops through the shoe hardware and can stay tied as you use the velcro.The heel does seem a bit higher than other brand shoes we have had, so that may be a concern for some. I wouldn't switch into these right before a competition or recital as I think the higher heel may take a little getting used to.

We got these for my five year old, and they're great. They're very comfortable and easy for her to put on. They have a closure that was new to me and a little hard to describe, but you can see it in one of my photos. The heels are higher than she's used to, but she finds them very easy to move around in. I don't know enough about tap dancing to give you a more competent opinion on them, but for our needs, they're great.They fit true to size and feel high quality. Great shoes.

These tap shoes are really pretty and well made. The bow is a fun added element and they are fairly easy to put on. They can be strapped on from either side. The cost is fair for the quality of the shoes, the only downside is that they run small. I should have known this because my oldest has been in tap for a while so I wish I had sized up. Other than that the shoes are amazing and a great option if your little one needs tap shoes. If they were the right size they would be comfortable.

My daughter takes dance. These are nice tap shoes. I really like how they have the ribbons attached, but you actually secure them with Velcro. You can leave the ribbons on or take them off. I didn't even realize that they come with ribbons, because they aren't shown in the main product photo. The tap shoes are shiny and they fit as expected. My daughter said they feel fine wearing them. They came packaged really well with each shoe individually wrapped, so they don't get scuffed up. She's not a serious dancer, and just takes the class for fun and these will work well for us. They were much more reasonably priced than tap shoes we purchased for our son from a local store years ago.I look at reviews a lot while shopping. I hope this review helps!

I ordered these black tap shoes for my great granddaughter as she recently started tap dance and then out grew her first pair of tap shoes within 2 months of starting tap. These shoes are great quality and sound exactly like a tap shoe should. The unique thing about these tap shoes is that you can use the Velcro strap to tighten them or you can use a ribbon. Both are provided so it’s up to your personal preference. With my great granddaughter being so young and not knowing how to tie her shoes we use the velcro option and it works great! No complaints.
