Eddie Bauer didn't become a well known company by producing mediocre outdoor products. This pack is very consistent with the quality of their other products and what you would expect from Eddie Bauer.This is a good size pack for outdoor adventures or for just walking around town to hold cell phone, wallet, keys, etc. It is rectangular shaped compared to the usual rounded packs out there. It offers slightly more room because the bottom isn't more narrow than the top. It also makes it easier to pack and find items stored inside since they don't all bunch up in the bottom, the way they do in rounded packs. The strap is very long so it should fit any body size. It's easily adjustable. I also like that it has handles on the top for carrying by hand. The interior has a couple of pockets. One is much larger than the other, so I guess it depends on what you want to store in them, to determine how well they function. The inside of the pouch also has a tethered clip that I guess you could use for keychains, I personally don't know what else to use that feature for. On the exterior, there's also a small loop that will allow you to slip a carabiner thru and clip this on the exterior of a backpack. The contrasting color makes the loop easy to find for use. The only negative I can mention is the single zipper. This would be perfect if it had a double zipper that allowed for opening the pack in the middle. As it is with the single zipper, you have to unzip the entire pack from the end to open it. That could cause some items to fall out, in my opinion. But since the rest of this pack is so well constructed and thoughtfully designed, I won't hold the zipper against them. The zipper does function smoothly without sticking or getting caught. The stitching is clean without imperfections. The pack feels durable. The handles feel durable. The strap to adjust the waistband has an elastic loop that can hold the strap from dangling when it is being carried by hand.I do like this pack. It's durable and good quality. It's a good value for the price and functions well because of its rectangular shape. That's why I rate this at 5 stars and I would recommend this item

I'm not sure how they measured the capacity of this field pack bag, but I can't believe it's 3L. The materials of construction feel very cheap, even though its price is high. The inside pockets have no closures (e.g., zippers), so stuff will just bounce around if the bag is used for hiking. Quite surprised this is an Eddie Bauer product, as they used to make good stuff.I'll repurpose it somehow, but I won't use it in the field.

This is a great little bag. Not too big, not too small. As typical with anything from Eddie Bauer, this bag is built tough. The fabric is thick, the stitching is strong, and the zippers are above par. You always want good zippers, as they typically fail first on lesser bags.Since the bag also comes with two nice hand straps, I find myself wishing the waist strap were removable or retractable. But, that's a minor annoyance.Recommended.
