I’ve tried a few before that claimed to work with low water levels but either made noise or didn’t move the water enough. The minimum height needed is barely anything, but it still manages to create a nice little waterfall. My turtle seems more active since I added it, probably because the water is cleaner and there's more movement. You can tell it’s pulling out debris because I’ve already noticed less gunk at the bottom of the tank. It’s rated for 30-60 gallons, and mine is right in the middle of that range — seems like a perfect match. Also, I can’t stress enough how nice it is that it runs quietly. I have the tank in the living room and the hum is almost non-existent.

My fresh water tank for my two sliders has not needed as many frequent cleanings, I really like this filter

Worked great for about 6 weeks. Then quit.
