If you have children you have spent way too much money on carving kits like I have. I went out on a limb and ordered this for the grandkids and I will be ordering another one.It’s durable, comfortable grip, sharp and a great value for the money.

Purchased these to do pumpkin carving with my adult kids and also purchased 2 cheaper sets of another brand. Everyone ended up fighting for these because they worked so well. Very sturdy and pretty sharp, great value for the price and i love that it comes with a storage bag. Will have to purchase another set for next Halloween Will include photos of pumpkin we carved using these

I tested two of the tools on a watermelon using a quick 5 minute template. The quality is slightly better than cheap little orange ones that come with template booklets. I love the cute long handles, they are more comfortable to hold. The zipper case and battery lights included were a bonus.The selection is decent for designs without much details or cutting straight through the larger part of designs. I wish the most commonly available medium straight saw was ommitted and replaced with a smaller carving loop. Beware many current designs require detailed removal of the surface without cutting all the way through and anything requiring this technique can not be accomplished with this kit alone. I can't give 5 stars because it's not a stand alone kit that could work with most designs. There is a thumb sized V shaped tool similar to a calk removal tool placed next to an exacto ( not included ) for size comparison. It is for cutting a v straight through, using it horizontally results in uncontrolled removal of chunks. I will still need to purchase additional tools to get cleaner results. For the cost it is a good value to start out with or for simple designs.
