I replaced my ignition housing on my suburban, in the process of removing my steering wheel lock plate, I crushed the bearing and caused all of this up and down, side to side slop in my steering wheel, not to mention the horrible clicking noises the bearing retainer made as it was being ripped and crushed, and all the ball bearings escaping the bearing and rolling onto my floor. Needless to say, I needed to replace this bearing. I used a pick to remove the ball bearings and inner race, then I used the inner race and ball bearings with the plastic retainer on this new bearing and inserted them into the outer bearing race that was still pressed into my vehicle, because it's a pain to remove the outer race. Greased it up, put it all back together and the steering feels brand new. I used the factory service manual from AC DELCO. you can rent it for 22 bucks for 3 days. It doesn't give your repair instructions, but it does provide exploded diagrams so you can figure it out for yourself. You'll need a steering wheel puller and a lock plate remover if you wanna do it fast. Plus a bunch of small picks. I used the cheap orange ones from harbor freight. As a professional technician, whole process took me an hour. Don't forget to disconnect your battery before unplugging your airbag.

No había tenido la experiencia de comprar refacciones y fue muy fácil.

Rebuilding the steering column in my 92 K1500 and these bearings were shot. This is a direct replacement. I saw some chose to leave the original outer race but I chose to punch them out and drive the new ones in. Everything worked great although these are pricey they were needed.

The hard part is getting the old bearings out. I used a Dremel with narrow cutting wheel to cut the inner race off the tilt steering column shaft. Installing the new bearings is challenging. I used a large socket and a BMFH to drive them into the tilt steering casting. Created a few new slang words on that one. After I got it back together, I told myself there isn't anything I can't do now. So I now wear tee shirts with a big red S on the front....
