It's perfect for practice & I don't play much outside but it would be perfect for it too if you want to amp up & play & not having to worry about finding an outlet to plug into & easy to take anywhere. It's pretty punchy & loud for its size.

Hibilly's strangely named DULL3 is far from dull. It's the best mini amp of the several that I've used. Many other mini amps on the market are made mainly of plastic, but the DULL3 is very solidly made of durable metal. Its 3-Watt output is handled well by its 3-inch speaker in an open back cabinet, even when fully cranked. There is no power switch, as the amp turns on when a cable is inserted.Controls are very simple: a button for selecting the clean and overdrive modes, a Drive control for adjusting the gain of the OD mode, and a Gain control for adjusting the overall volume. The Clean mode is kind of clean and the OD mode is kind of dirty. No extremes, but very pleasing sound with my Tele-type guitar. Oddly, the product page states that this amp is designed for bass guitar, but I think that must be a mistake.The tiny cabinet has four feet and two strap buttons for the included carrying strap. The grille seems to be painted metal, and the Hibilly logo plate is glued on. This plate can be moved about slightly, and may eventually fall off.Like many such devices now, the DULL3 uses a lithium battery that is charged via USB with the included cable. This battery appears to be replaceable if need be.Quality construction, great sound and portability are the selling points here. The DULL3 is priced higher than some other mini amps, but its quality makes it well worth the current price. As if that weren't enough, the DULL3 comes in four colors- mine is "Darkling Black", and I had to wait a while to receive it.Buy this amp!

While the tone on this is actually decent for the size don't expect "professional performance" specs. That being said for the size, portability, and rechargeable battery it's pretty great. It's solid metal and not just dressed up to look so which I really like. Also I learned this from another little amp but it works on this as well - you can use your foot over it and get a wah pedal kind of effect.
