The pump does work quietly. The interface for the pump is not intuitive.

There is no way to connect 1 inch flexible hose connector to the pump. The 1 inch rigid connector is ok but the 1 inch flexible connector base is smaller than the rigid one and for that reason it just slips out of screw connector.

Had an old Pondmaster 1000 submersible filter with 3/4" hose and needed a pump on it for a new 125-gallon indoor aquarium setup. Ran the 3/4" hose to the intake using the 3/4" soft tube connector (included), then put the 1" rigid pipe connector (included) on top to connect an outflow pipe to. Went to Lowe's and bought 1" PVC pipe and 45 degree elbow (do direct water up and away, across the tank from the end the filter is at, to get good flow). The 1" pipe and elbow were too big; took the 1" rigid pipe connector and figured out smaller PVC pipe and elbow (I think I got 3/4") were needed, and fit so snugly I haven't needed PVC cement (a can would've cost close to $8). Already have a saw to cut the PVC pipe. I adjusted it to the lowest flow setting, which looks vigorous enough but not too powerful.Very impressed with how quiet this pump is. The setup's in the living room, so noise matters, and so far, really happy. I put a row of bio media under the coarse filtration pad that came in the Pondmaster 1000 filter, so coupled with strong flow from this pump, that would do well. It's a turtle tank, so the water level is several inches from the top; hang-on-back filters like the AquaClear I feared could loose their prime in a blackout, and canister filters are a pain to take out, disassemble, clean and get primed again (I've used a few different models). This appears simple, easy and powerful. The pump has a button you can hit to stop flow 10 minutes while you feed fish, and the control panel hangs outside the tank.

Direct current low voltage pump is ideal for outside. We need a longer cord (30 feet) to go from inside with controller (not waterproof) to outside (where the fountain and pump operate). The cord provided is about 6 feet long, with nice waterproof screw together connectors. So the only thing for us to find was a waterproof 30 foot line with the proper connectors (available on line from either the company for 10 feet long) or the www for 3o footers). Fit and connected well. The ability to control current which controls the pump speed is easy to do and holds even if power goes down and recovers nicely. Well built, pretty small for the amount of water pumped (for us, 4 fountain jets). Would buy again. Company indicates they are thinking about offering different power line lengths, very responsive to our concerns.

Setup: 800GPH model | Submerged in sump | Using 1' barb & flex tubing.I recently had one of my Sicce syncra 3.0 pumps go out on me. It was not that old & despite routine maintenance, it began to really struggle. I decided I would try another brand & stumbled across this one. With my second Sicce still hooked up (for now!), I can really notice right off the bat just how silent this pump really is. The vibration level is hardly noticeable. I had to feel the flow to make sure it was running. The Sicce pumps no matter the setup (rubber legs, on foam, off walls, etc.), give off this buzz sound that you eventually get used too....The flow itself is as advertised. The setup was simple. This pump is truly impressive so far. I will create an update post if anything fails or any issues occur sooner than anticipated!Update: 3/16/2021 - the pump is still running like a champ! So much so that I purchased 2 more (1 to replace my other sicce & the other to go on a custom river tank). These things are still silent. Very VERY impressed with hygger on this one! Highly recommend.Update:7/22/22 - all 3 pumps still running! Not a single issue. Still shocked!
