Perfect cat liter box! No more cat liter all over the place liter stays inside. Cat adjusted to new liter box right away.

El arenero es bonito y de buen material, pero su funcionalidad es terrible. No está diseñado para ser un buen arenero, es más bien una maceta o una caja para almacenar cosas. Lo regresamos… Recomiendo que sigas usando los areneros clásicos…

This litter box is made of very strong plastic. The cube shape looks great and tucks away easily in a corner or elsewhere. The design prevents litter from being scattered around too much and the whole top part lifts off easily for cleaning. Based on looks and sturdiness I would give it five stars. The problem is that it is not popular with the cats and theirs are the only opinions that matter.Currently I have five cats (don't ask). One of them is a litter box explorer who is always the first to check out and use a new litter box. I put him on the top of this one to give him the idea and he went right inside to do his business. Since then he uses it occasionally but prefers the more open boxes.I tried my second cat who is the litter box policeman and goes to cover up in each box on a regular basis. He went into this one, looked around a bit, then came out and hasn't been inside it since. Two others I adopted as feral kittens who nobody else wanted because they were too shy. They are still quite skeptical and don't like to be confined. Neither would have anything to do with this box despite a couple of attempts. My fifth cat is quite large and had no interest in even trying to get in. So out of five cats, only one has used it at all and he prefers the other, more open boxes. If this were introduced to cats when they were kittens (probably with a step or two until they got bigger) and no other options were available then it might work, but otherwise in my experience most cats simply won't use it. It looks great and is easy to clean and if my cats liked it I would be happy to switch all the litter boxes over to this one, but unfortunately the felines have spoken and it is paws down.

UPDATE: From 3 stars to 4 (would EASILY be 5 if the Design Issue in the original review was addressed)This is BY FAR the best litter box we've ever owned.SET-UP TIPS (EASY once you get the hang of it):- Optional: put some newspaper or a pad down in the tray first- Put in a thick liner (will make litter changes SUPER easy).--- This is what I've used for maybe a year now (the thickest and the best fit I've found): "Ultrasac 2 MIL Thick Cat Litter Box Liners - 36" x 19" - Odor Free Leak Proof Disposable Heavy Duty Jumbo Durable Coreless Drawstring Scratch Tear Resistant"- Slowly lower the outer shell over the tray. As you lower the shell, gently tug on the liner edges (from the outside/along the bottom of the shell) to get the liner to lie as flat as possible on the bottom of the tray. (By getting it super flat, my cats no longer tear the liner. And I no longer need the cardboard I'd been using.)- Pour the litter in, then put the small lid on. (I use Ultra brand crystals; it's very lightweight and works well with the box and liners.)TO SCOOP:- Take off the small, flat top (not the entire shell, as some reviewers suggest); then you'll have full access to the box for scooping.TO CHANGE:- Take off the top and the outer shell, and remove the entire bag. That's it! Now just set up the new bag and litter as described above! SUPER EASY!!! (Oh, and scrape to clean the ridge at the bottom of the shell. It's annoying because they should just redesign this, but the litter comes off MUCH easier than other boxes we've had.)If they ever redesign to remove that ridge, I'd buy a new box in a heartbeat. Also, we keep this box ~2' off the ground on top of a small cabinet used for storing extra litter, scoops, etc. I can scoop without having to bend or squat, so I don't procrastinate as much. 😊ORIGINAL REVIEW:Pros- Less litter scatter after the first day or so- Nice looking- It's a comfortable size for my 2 cats, one of whom is over 20 lbs (not fat, just a HUGE cat), yet the box has a relatively small footprint.- My cats eyed it curiously, then used it without any issues or coaxing when they needed to go.- The unit, so far, seems easy to clean.Cons- LINER/BOTTOM: It takes a fair amount of adjustment to get the liner to lie relatively flat on the bottom. And, even then, the liners move such that they're poking up through the litter, creating lots of hills and valleys in which "things" can hide. Also, the liner tears because of this. I put newspaper UNDER my liner and that helped with the mess. But this seems like it could benefit from some type of disposable "flattening device" inside the liner. I'm going to try using cardboard cut-outs on the bottom inside the liner to keep the liner flat and intact (although that may just soak up urine). Maybe thin, scratch-prooof, flat, plastic, disposable squares are needed on the bottom inside the liner.- EXTRA WORK [DESIGN ISSUE]: There's a seemingly unnecessary lip inside the litter box near the bottom that collects urine and gunk. So, more to clean for no apparent benefit.- TOP: Only some of the ridges on the top point toward the opening. If they all did, it would take ~10 seconds to sweep all the litter on top (and there's LOTS of it) back into the litter box. Instead, some ridges run parallel to the opening, so you have to forcefully brush perpendicular to the ridges to get the litter back in the box. Much messier and longer than necessary if the ridges all pointed to the opening.SET-UP: This replaces an enclosed cabinet set-up. For now, I've got the litter box on top of the cabinet, and it's a decent height so I'm not bending to the floor to scoop. I might give the interior a super-duper cleaning and use it for storing extra litter and other non-food cat supplies beneath the litter box. We'll see.

My boyfriend has a cat so I had to come up with the best way to do the weekly litter change. I like the thought of having a bag that the litter goes into that you can just pull the bag with the old litter out of the cat box. So I bought this. I don't ever want to shovel, scrape, wash, or pour old litter out of a cat box again. Plus I like the feature of the litter not going all over the floor. The first week I tried the cat scratched through the bag and I ended up having to clean the cat box.The second week I tried putting parchment paper in between the bag and the litter and the cat scratched through that.My boyfriend had a bunch of framing mat board for free from someone so I cut that and made a template. I am sure that's going to work out perfectly but I think cardboard would work just as well too.It comes with three bags that are kind of thin. I used those thick black garbage bags (leaf bags?) that I cut in half and duct tape the end of one together for next time. So I get two out of one bag. Not sure if they have to be thick bags I just have them on hand. The downside is I would have to cut the cardboard or mat board and make about 50 a year. I plan on having a template and doing quite a few at a time so I just have them on hand to use. Also I would have to get one box of garbage bags and cut and tape those too.The upside is changing the cat litter takes just a few minutes. I'm so much happier! It's not something I dread anymore. It's so easy. Plus I don't see anything going into the air that I would want to breathe in.One more note when I feed Melanie just chicken that I cook in a slow cooker she poops less and it doesn't stink. 😁Update to previous post -Very happy with it still! One picture is showing the order in which I put it all together. Make sure you keep pulling the bag up in the process. Also put the gray ring in before you put the cat litter in otherwise litter will go under the grey ring. If you're moving it after it's assembled grab it from the bottom. Bag can be tucked under white ring to hide it. Also I have yet to use the scooper. The board you would need is going to be 15 by 15. If you're in a pinch you could get the foamboard that kids use for school projects at Walmart for under a dollar which would be two of them. Poster board is too short. The only thing I would change - the gray ring has a ridge on the inside. I will include a picture. The kitty litter does get on that ridge so I do have to put that in the laundry sink I just quick clean that with a paper towel and water. Not sure if they wanted you pour litter to that ridge. It's definitely not needed. We will be moving into an RV soon and the cat box fits perfectly in front of the passenger seat when we will be parked.I still love this! So much easier! Worth the extra money! Naomi, John and Melanie😺 all happy!

Great product for small to medium cat. One large cat should be okay because it is square shape.looks great and top entry worked well. Quality is there, design to somewhat control the mess from going on the floor. I returned it because not big enough for my two cats. Not sure if it would work for any two size cats given they are fussy to begin with.Expensive but worth the try if you it works for you and the cat. Top entry works well and solid
