I think it's an okay product for the price, but I'm taking off stars because one of the lanterns arrived with a slight tear. The product is close to how it looks in the pictures.If you intend to make this lampshade a permanent fixture in a nice mid century interior, you should probably look elsewhere as it can look cheap. This product is probably better used as party decor or to brighten a temporary living space like a dorm room.

I've had paper lanterns before. Luckily an LED bulb doesn't put out much heat so I'm not too concerned with this being an actual paper lantern. My issue is the inside metal hanger that also pushes the lantern to stay extended broke. It was very flimsy and the weld broke.

These two lamp shades are nice looking but quite delicate in construction. They are extra thin rice paper spheres reinforced with nylon thread rings (with wire inside, perhaps?) and a rectangular wire frame in the middle holding it up. For some reason I pictured them to be a bit more sturdy and fire resistant for lamp shades. Now with these I feel uncomfortable even just using a 25 watt bulb for any length of time and actually ordered E26 nightlight bulbs as I don't want them to go up in smoke literally. Now with that said and the proper precautions in place they do have the potential to create an extra soft and gentle ambient light.
