Excellent swim trunks! We've gone through two sizes of these over the past four years (first size 8, now size 10/12), and we love them. They take a thrashing with sun exposure, chlorine, sand and mud, salty ocean—and consistently come clean out of the wash. Still retaining its fit and hold, and the color is still surprisingly vibrant. Love the stretchy adjustable waist. Lightweight and quick drying. Only negative is the netting on the inside: when it collects sand, it rubs against his legs and irritates his skin pretty bad, so at the beach he wears wicking briefs underneath. We plan to keep buying these trunks as he grows.

My son loves the design. Red and black are his favorite colors and the fire print is just for him. It washes fine. The price is good for the product. He says the tag scratches him though.

I bought these a while ago. They were too big, and my son needed to grow into them. My wife was excited because they fit when she was packing his swimwear for our vacation. (Mistake number one. NEVER wear unproven swimwear for the first time on vacation!) Today, my wife, son, and I are 5 days into our 7 day beach vacation. Our son played on the beach all day for the first 3 days with no issues (wearing his other swim trunks with the typical soft, tight-weave mesh). Yesterday, the mesh in these trunks severely chafed my 6 year old son’s legs and genitals. He didn’t tell us it was happening because he is non-verbal (autism). He just started crying and holding his crotch all of a sudden after about an hour and a half of playing in the waves while wearing these trunks. I had to carry him home because he was screaming as he attempted to walk. It looks awful; like he was attacked with a cheese grater. As a grown man, I’ve experienced some chafing with swimwear, but never have I seen anything close to this. He has been in a lot of pain and discomfort since yesterday afternoon. He was up at 3am crying and holding his crotch and couldn’t sleep because he wears diapers and couldn’t sleep in one. (We didn’t sleep either…) We had to Amazon overnight zinc diaper rash ointment to treat the chafing because the stores on the island where we are staying didn’t have any. We are going to have to keep him out of the saltwater pool and ocean, possibly for the rest of our vacation. Today, all three of us are sitting around the house wishing we could be at the beach or the pool on this beautiful, sunny day. These swimming trunks have ruined our vacation. Also, I feel guilty, over his suffering, due to my not inspecting them. The mesh has wide holes and feels rough, like something you would use to catch fish. I certainly wouldn’t want that material anywhere near my own business. A very hard lesson for everyone involved. Let me save you the trouble. Don’t buy these.

Amazing quality product and value! I started ordering Kanu swim trunks for my son 4 years ago. He is slim and tall. He needed length and a waist that fits. The size 18-20 has fit him for years! Now he completely fills it out. Ironically the suits I ordered him years ago STILL look brand new! Color is vibrant and stitching has held through vacations, pool visits, Disney trips, and endless washer/dryer events. This year I decided he needs NEW patterns and colors. The old ones still work great, but it’s time for new! I just order about 6 more-such a value! He loves every one! The patterns are vibrant and the length is to his knees. There are a few styles that are shorter, so watch with the images which style you are selecting. He prefers longer length and these are perfect! You will be amazed. I would not buy him any other brand. BEST news they come in men’s too! So when he is ready to move up, he can order Kanu for men!
