The comb is the most effective tool particularly for a big dog. For that alone U would recommend it.

The set of tick hooks work great. You slide the fork in underneath the tick and it wedges their head into the fork, then spin it around a couple times and basically it pulls out the head and the jaws and whatever the jaws were gripping.I just did one on my dog and here it is on a bed sheet, you can still see the little bit of skin stuck in its jaws, so the hooks clearly work. I have done it several times now and you have to use the different size hooks for different size ticks basically.I don't see any use for the comb, but the tweezers are pretty solid and definitely useful. To me it's definitely a good deal for $9.

This set gives you lots of options but I have only needed one so far. I like that we have other tools to use just in case, but the medal tweezers worked great pulling a tick off my cat’s face.

The plastic tick removers are far too large to get under the tick body. They're useless. The metal one works better, although my first effort almost made me want to use the tweezers. The comb is a joke. If this is a tool for you and your pets to remove unwanted biting insects, I'd think the comb would conform to that expectation. It's got big wide teeth, useless for anything, really. It should be a small size flea comb so that it would pull ticks off the dog that hadn't latched on, and, oh, it would work on fleas too! Overall, cheap and most components are non-functional.

We just got a husky puppy and I wanted to be prepared for tick season. We actually didn’t have to resort to using all of the tools but the two tweezers are always around, especially the very pointy one - it gets the smallest ticks out!
