I thought I was getting a black light fixture, but now I see that "orb" is actually dark brown, despite the seller telling me that both were black. The base, however, is BLACK. But the worst part is that the light fixture is wonky. Welded crookedly, and the metal is really soft and bendable. The chain links are so soft that you can pry them open with your hands to remove links if you want to hang the light higher. I like the design, but I don't like the quality.

i'm excited to write about this light fixture cause i've been looking to replace a foyer light for over 5 years now and this one truly fits the bill! i'll readily admit, it took awhile for me to get with these "cheap" fixtures, sans glass. yep, i fought it alright, but once that glass gets a glaze, it's a bear to remove. that you need a ladder makes it an even more arduous task. so, having no glass is a welcome relief. my existing had over 15 years use and over time, cooking will eventually pollute the air with this residue that glass fixtures love. hell, doing the windows is enough work already.UPDATE: this fixture continues to impress as we've noticed yet another feature.this fixture looks very rich and is very well made. i would dare say at $30, it's underpriced. it has a nice weight to it and the orb finish is top notch. each squarish ring of the fixture can be rotated to allow for a customized look. we also used edison leds as shown in their image and it's truly stunning while not being garish. the hookup is 3-wire conventional or at least usa conventional.i rarely give up 5-stars but this came easy. my only hope is that they offer a larger counterpart and i'll buy that today!UPDATE: the leds are controlled by a lutron dimmer. when sufficiently dimmed we were pleasantly surprised after we noticed the distinctive shadows it projects on the ceiling. being hung in the foyer just a few inches from the ceiling allows it to be visible from outside of the house. we have some glass over the front door, which allows it to show quite eloquently.
