tiene buen tamaño para una ninfa, solo que compré 2 y una llegó rota, una lástima, tiene buena calidad pero cuiden más cuando lo envuelvan.

I bought it under the impression the material was wood, but it is actually plastic. It's well textured, has some heft to it, and my finch couple prefers it to any other perch in their cage. Some of the benefits to this product being man made over it being wood is that you will literally get what is pictured, and you can wash it in the sink if necessary.

I have actually purchased two of these perches for my parakeets. I wanted a second one so that I could replace the branch when soiled and clean it thoroughly while alternating with the clean branch in the cage. Before I bought the first one I was concerned about the material it was made of considering the birds might chew on it. I found the website for Hagen and called and was given very clear and useful information from the standpoint of an employee who uses the perches for his own birds. I felt confident the perch would be fine. The first one I received was not padded very well, looked like it had bounced around the box, and had what I thought might be a small crack...but no where near where my birds could get their feet. When I ordered the second perch it came packaged so well I could hardly get it loose! My birds LOVE this perch and use the different branches to play and have their little "I am the tallest one" competitive disagreements. It is now something they would miss terribly. While cleaning the first perch after considerable use a chip did come off of the area where I had seen the small crack. It did not chip or break in any other areas other than where it had been damaged no doubt in transit. It was too late for a refund or replacement...so I contacted Hagen directly. I had also read some negative reviews on Amazon about the perch. In my e-mail to Hagen about the damage and questions about the reviews I found a company that takes its' products and the health of its' customer's pets VERY seriously!! I not only received a replacement, but an education in a thoughtful personal e-mail from an Avian Product Specialist on my bird's feet! Hagen has a Research Institute and they use their own perches...they know their stuff! It was recommended that I have 3 different surfaces to take the proper care of their feet...including a rope perch which they said is our equivalent of "comfy slippers". Bottom line...I think the perch is great...but of course will watch for any damage...I bought a rope perch on Amazon already. I could not recommend Hagen more! If anyone has a problem or a question about the perch...go to the source! Great Customer service there!

I was asked if I would give a home to a fairly elderly budgie whose owner had lost interest in him. He had virtually nothing in his cage so I bought two of these perches and a lot of other things to make life a bit more interesting for him. I put just one natural perch in his cage to see what he thought of it and for a couple of months he totally ignored it. I also put two of the plastic budgies (the ones that wobble around) on it which he feeds and chatters away to and he goes to sleep with them. Then one day he put a very tentative foot on the Living World perch anddecided he liked it after all. Now he sleeps on it with the plastic budgies and climbs on and off it all day. I am now going to put the other one in his cage as he likes this perch so much. He is now a very happy and confident bird. A friend has asked me to order one of these perches for her budgy.Barbara

We recently adopted a second canary who came to us in a *very* small cage recommended by the pet shop that sold the bird. So I bought him a roomy, proper (yet affordable) like the one we use for our first canary. In wanting to outfit the second cage as comfortably as the first, I looked for another natural or natural-looking perch that would allow Bird #2 to sleep as high in the cage as possible, something canaries prefer to do at night. When I couldn't find the same one as I'd bought for Bird #1, I bought this one - and both Bird #2 and I have been very pleased. (Bird #1 doesn't care.) It cleans up easily, washes and dries quickly (safer for birds, since wet wooden perches aren't a good idea, ever), looks nice, and gives Bird #2 several choices of where to sit and snooze. The only caution would be that though it's identified as "small," it's in fact pretty big for any of those tiny cages pet shops are, inexplicably, so willing to sell. Check you measurements, and if you decide to use this perch in a very small cage, be prepared to remove the existing upper perch. If you have a very small cage, please consider buying a larger one; like us, even tiny birds need to spread their wings every now and then.
