I needed magnetic strip to hold a thin filter in place. Even with an extra 2 inches of magnet making contact to the metal itself on either side, it would not hold well at all. The filter weighs very little and I held the bottom in place with tape as a test.

I bought the 3/4" wide magnetic strips to use while making curtains for my camper van. As soon as it arrived, I cut off a few inches and tried it on several pieces of metal. The hold strength was poor.I went ahead and made the curtains for my van. I specifically bought lightweight fabric for the underneath so the magnets did not lose strength going through thick fabrics.During my first test of the new curtains, I installed the magnetic strips all the way around both sides and the top. Guess what? The curtains slide down a little bit and then fell off. I need to find another source of stronger magnets, or velcro, or something. I haven't problem-solved that yet.In short, the strength of this flexible magnet strip is about as strong as a picture magnet that you buy while visiting a national park. So for every day purposes, that equates to holding 1-2 pieces of paper, or super lightweight fabric such as mosquito netting, chiffon, organza.Buy this magnetic roll if that's what you need to do.I wish I could sell you the 80' I have left over and can't use :(

Lo esperado, ojlá hubiera sido más potente, pero entiendo que es cinta magnética. Sirvió para lo que la requería y si necesito más, la volvería a comprar.

After reading other reviews from people who used this for camping purposes,weI decided to give it a try. We wanted to use our van as a camper with the tailgate open. We used mosquito netting to draped over the open tailgate using these magnetic strips to adhere it to the van body. We also used window screen material on the outside of the side door windows using the magnetic strips as well. It worked great. My husband and I prepared everything in advance, cutting the magnet strips and netting, so that when we got to the campground we were able to set up quickly. It was faster than setting up a tent and the magnetic strips stayed put throughout our entire camping trip. When we took the van on a side trip, removing the magnets and netting was simple and setting back up at the campground was quick. We plan to do more camping around the country using this method. Our minivan becomes a mini-camper in a few simple steps.

This was for a 1" H shelf face. Although preferred, I've found 1" magnetic tape not the best choice as it uses the full height of the shelf face, and is easily disturbed when moving items on the shelf, causing the magnet to fall off. This tape was 3/4" H, leaving enough room above and below the magnet to prevent it from being disturbed when moving items on or off the shelf. It is ideal for printing stick on shelf labels and sticking to the magnet. Choosing the right fonts (they varied), allowed for two lines per label that were easily read. I did not want to stick labels directly to the shelves leaving residue if removed. I cut this into 3 to 4 inch lengths to fit the appropriate shelf identifications and worked out great. Anyone complaining about strength of the magnet probably is not using this for the intended purpose - it sticks and stays well.Best of all, it was a great value compared to others
