Instal was good. Size is pretty large my 80 pound hound dog fits through it nice. Area of concern. Operation: some times the flap doesn’t close all the way. That not good we got it to keep the kitten inside. The lock: it takes 3 seconds to lock back once it unlocks. The problem it constantly unlocks, I have the sensitivity turned all the way down. It unlocks when the key is no where near it. This is not good. At $200 this defeats the purpose of a keyed lock.

Had this door for a month and very happy with it! Sturdy, it shuts tight and is a good price! The key-fob took a little time to adjust so it didn't randomly set the door off at further distances. (first battery died in 1 week. However, it lite up red when it was low, which was good to know before it failed) after we adjusted door setting, the battery seems good and at now over 3 weeks. Cats stay in and dog can go out when we are at work. It's quiet. You do need a little knowledge of how to use power tools and how to cut into a metal house door. Seal it with silicone along the edges. Not 100 percent weather proof, air will blow through the cracks a little... I will insulating the inside half of the door with a foam cover and velcro to keep our cold winter air out at night.

We purchased this door in order to keep our kitten inside when she started following our dog out our old doggie door. Well, this new door does NOT work—the door doesn’t “catch” in the correct position, causing the lock to engage and then keeps the door from opening at all (thus, locking out our dog). Then, the lock wouldn’t engage quickly enough, so our cat would still follow the dog out the door even though the cat does not have the chip on her collar. TODAY OUR KITTEN GOT OUT AND HAS NOT RETURNED! We fear the worst has happened. Thanks for a wasted $200 and probably the loss of our sweet fur baby.

The door itself is solid and opens/closes smoothly. The automatic lock and unlock feature is terrible though, it was hit or miss from day one and stopped working completely after two weeks. I’d either get a better automatic door or just go with a cheaper standard one, because this doesn’t feel any better than most cheaper doors.
