My little boy loves these. I'm not a professional artist, but I prefer these to many other paintbrushes. I paint because I like to paint, but to be honest, I wouldn't do it if my kids didn't love painting. I paint to help boost my kids learning experience. I feel like painting--art making--is a luxury for other people--and I think lots of other people feel the same way.Paint something for yourself. Anything. Just dots can be very relaxing while teaching you so much about color and surfaces and liquid. If you don't know where to start, these brushes are great for beginners. They're affordable and consistently quality.

I brought these brushes for my yr 3 class to use, we have not gotten to use them yet, but I am excited for the first class.

This is another of the well-made and affordable paintbrush sets by Royal & Langnickel. I like them for both craft painting and hobby acrylic paintings. One thing I really appreciate is the fact that I've never had a hair left behind in my work, which you often get with cheap paintbrush sets. This is a set of brushes I don't mind my not-really-careful 11 year old son using, but I will gladly reach for them when I'm ready to make a painting. These are pretty easy on the hands; very smooth and thick enough that you don't have to have a tight grip. The little rubber grips come off so you can clean the whole brush, and then they slip back on fairly easily. The brushes are quite easy to clean; I have used both Dawn dish liquid and Master's brush cleaner to great effect. The bristles will stain from highly pigmented paint (especially Alizarian Crimson!) but the paint will all wash out. I've never had any paint transfer from old paint clinging to the bristles.I recommend these for anyone needing a quality set of hobby/craft paintbrushes. They are cheap enough for little kids to use but good enough for an adult hobbyist to use.

Being an interior [retired] residential re-do painter for 24 years I know brushes well. One learns to identify a quality brush over a cheapy throw away at a glance. A quality brush is tapered at the tip allowing for precision placement of the paint being used. That is what we have here. An inexpensive yet quality made brush. To test this you bend the bristles way back and quickly release the hairs as though you were to count them and watch for loose hairs to go flying which is a sign of poor quality. I saw no hairs release at all.Having said that, that being said, with that said,,, LoL, that just kills me, such a turn off.Next is the hot water test. Running the bristles under hot tap water and vigorously agitate the hairs. Watching for hairs coming loose I saw none. Next I stroke the brush back and forth on a white paper towel that is placed on a flat surface and watch for hairs that come loose. There were none.I can't speak for their longevity as I just got them but this testing I do indicates well seated and glued brush hairs. All the brushes are trimmed perfectly at the tip. They all are tapered just right. The rubbery grip just before the head of the brush [the metal that holds the hairs] is a nice touch, I like that a lot. Each brush measures about 6 to 7 inches which is perfect for my use.I'd recommend these to any painter needing some artist brushes. And now for what I will use them for and a tip on t-shirt painting.I'll use these for painting t-shirts this winter. Custom scenery and other images. I used to buy fabric paint and it is not inexpensive. Then it hit me: the latex house paint I used over the years does not wash out of cloth and is pliable. It can be put on thick or thin. The thinner it is the less resilient it is. A quart of latex house paint [which comes in any color under the sun including basic white and black] is incredibly less expensive than "fabric" paint.Great value great brushes. Amazon really is the way to go, love shopping here.
