I recently purchased this SSD for my business travels, and I must say, it has exceeded my expectations. The design is sleek and professional, making it a stylish addition to my travel gear. Its compact size is incredibly convenient, easily fitting into my laptop bag or even a small pocket, which is a huge plus for someone constantly on the move. Despite its small footprint, the storage capacity is impressive, allowing me to keep all my essential files and documents at my fingertips. The performance is top-notch, with fast data transfer speeds that save me valuable time during my busy schedule. I highly recommend this SSD to anyone looking for a reliable, portable storage solution for their professional needs. It's a 5-star product that combines functionality and convenience seamlessly.

Bought this 1TB SSD drive to replace my failing WD My Passport 1TB 2013 drive. This new replacement SSD is really slim, lightweight and awesome with the dragon design. I also like the rubberized colored tab. Transfer rate is fast and as expected, silent! :0)Comes with a sturdy USB-A to USB-C black cable that is just the right length, not too long and not too short. Not too bulky for traveling either, it’s perfect.Marking down 2 stars because:1. There isn’t any LED indicator light so you can’t tell that the drive is being accessed.2. Wish it came with a neoprene case to hold SSD and cable for traveling.3. I renamed the SSD with my phone number in case it’s ever lost, but after doing that, I installed the SSD software and it can’t detect this SSD. I hope I can rename the SSD back to the original name in order to see what the software offers.NOTE: Because my old 2013 Western Digital (WD) 1TB drive was failing, I didn’t want to buy another WD drive ever. Unfortunately, the SanDisk box that this SSD came in shows WD affiliation. Hopeful that this SSD won’t have any issues.

Got it mainly for the dragon design which looks really cool in my opinion. Apart from this, the built is pretty plasticky and do note this is based on “entry level” SDSSDE30 series (comes with non interchangeable USB C to USB A cable) as compared to the Extreme or Extreme Pro version which has studier design. Good for what’s it’s worth given the cost and real world read / write speeds of high 700s mb/s and high 600s mb/s

I bought the 1TB dragon version since it was only $9 more for it.This is a small and amazing drive that out of the box gave me fast transfer speeds but when doing a backup of some personal files I got an error on my screen saying that it could not be completed because it “run out of space”… I could not believe this and was super confuse since I only had like +400GB of data to transfer and I bought the 1TB drive. After a few minutes of online investigation I read in some forums that SandDisk ships their drives with a huge “Allocation Unit Size” in order to have higher speeds when transferring big movie files and the like. I don’t have huge movie files but a lot of small files (small pictures, documents, etc.) So turns out that because of SandDisk’s huge ANS I lost a good +600GB of storage in literally just wasted space. I decided to re-format the drive in mac system (I mostly used it with mac) and macOS reduce the ANS to something like 4KB (4,096 bytes). I didn’t looked for the original SanDisk ANS before formatting it but I think I must’ve been something insane like 1MB (or 1,000KB) that’s like x250 bigger than apples formatting and after reading online it seems that 4KB is not the lowest it could be. (Mac does not allows you to manually change the ANS so you are gonna need Windows or Linux for that… or just let apple do it’s thing.)Because I re-format it and changed it’s ANS now it’s slower… (and I guess reliability was hit too). Out of the box was hitting +200-400MB/s while transferring lots of small files doing the original back up but after re-formatting it went down to 100-200MB/s with the same files… The higher the ANS it should be faster with bigger files (but you waste more space. And the smaller the ANS the slower the transfer will be but you loose less space, you choose)In short SanDisk ships their drives for “movie editors” that work with huge individual movie files and in theory this should read and write those files faster BUT if you have a lot of smaller files this drive will just waste x2 the space… so format it’s allocation unit size into something more manageable like 4KB, 1KB or even as low as 512 bytes if you work with lots of tiny files. Also after a while the drive runs super hot, like burning hot to the touch. Because of the original formatting I don't think I will be buying SanDisk drives again.
