These were so much easier than creating the floating shelves ourselves (which we were going to do). I returned the $49 brackets and die to drill the holes ($30) and got these shelves (there are 4 although we used 3) for $24. Very happy with the size and quality and ease of use.

Use these in a commercial application and have had no issues. Comes with all the hardware you will need for installation as well.

Was able to install these easily and they work great! However, they're not as sturdy as they claim to be.

I was looking for something to use with a 2x10 for floating shelves and took a chance on the 8-inch brackets. Unfortunately, they couldn’t support the weight of the 2x10 before I even put anything on it. Only way I could see it possible working is if it was put onto a horizontal stud or if you have a really light floating shelf unit. I was able to add some small L-brackets as these were in a corner and that worked enough for me, but I can’t give it more than 2 stars due to the issues above.

The biggest problem with these is you have to drill them straight then use a chisel to fit the bracket inside so it's hidden. This requires either a drill press or a very steady hand. Once the holes are in and deep enough, you can mark the outline of the bracket when it's in the hole and then chisel the rectangle base slot out. Only go about 1/4 " deep and test it so it's just deep enough to hide the bracket when it's on the wall. Measure the wall and try to get a screw or 2 into the wall stud then slid the shelf over the bracket. Use a small drill on each bracket finger and drill a hole on the bottom of the shelf. With out this screw in, the shelf can slide off when you're not expecting. You'll need at least 1 1/2" material for the shelf. Does a good job and looks smartly hidden. You get a good idea by the picture beside my fireplace for my model Blue Nose.
