I find it hard to describe the sound of a China cymbal in words, not to mention that a beautiful sound can all be in the ear of the beholder. While on the lookout for a relatively inexpensive China cymbal to use on a drum set for general/public use, I decided to give this brand a shot, having had previous good experiences with Stagg's bell effect cymbals. I was surprised how well this sounded, especially for the price when compared to those of the two biggest cymbal manufacturers. This has just the right amount of a "pish" sound, and absent is the "clang" sound found on cheaper Chinas. I found this cymbal to be little quieter compared to other brands of the same size, but that ended up being a good thing in terms of volume control given how many times Chinas can roar much louder than the surrounding crash cymbals. I don't know if it's the same across all Stagg cymbals, but I the way it feels when these are stuck I would describe as feeling "brittle". That's not to say they ARE brittle, but there seems to be a certain "graininess" in the stick-feel. Time will tell how durable this brand is, but so far so good.
