It works perfectly!!! Caught 3 squirrels in less than a week living in my crawl space. Easy to use.

excellent solution to a problematic issue! The trap was able to secure a medium size rat the first night! A humane solution that enables easy relocation of the rodent …

Someone must have been tired of their pet rat, because somehow out of the hundreds of houses in our town, we ended up with a white rat living with us. We are not rat people! I hear they are friendly, although this one did everything it could to avoid us. Didn’t have the heart to use a snap trap, knowing it had probably been a pet. We tried a couple other live traps. One it wouldn’t go in, the other it wasn’t heavy enough to trip. I found this one and decided to try it. Ordered it on Friday evening and it was delivered Saturday afternoon. I set it late in the afternoon. Instructions weren’t real clear, but with the pictures it wasn’t too difficult. Used dog food, chocolate chips, and raisins which we figured out were some of its favorite foods for bait leading into the trap and on the trip plate. In less than an hour I heard it go. I looked and we had our furry unwelcome guest! It is nowhere near sturdy enough to use for squirrels like some people tried to, but it will be this guy’s home till morning when someone is coming to get it!

Got this trap to catch some mice in the garage because the cats seem to be friendly with them. I grew up on a farm so I was able to set the trap without too much issue but a novice might like to find a video on how the first time. I rubbed a little peanut butter onto the plate and sprinkled a crushed saltine cracker all around inside the trap. Set it and put along the wall of the garage and the next morning had a little field mouse in there. Hubby relocated it to a grove on his way to work. Reset the trap and caught another and did this about 6 times with good results. Didn’t catch anything after having it set for over a week so hoping this means the mice all have been relocated elsewhere and will not return. So trap does it’s job and is fully functional. No escapes or chewing through. This trap however is not very sturdy and if I was trying to catch a big rat like in NYC or a crazy squirrel or something, I fear it would not hold up. The door is thin lightweight metal as is the hardware cloth sides and any sizable or determined animal is going to be able to get out. It also would crush if it was stepped on or something heavy dropped on it. We knew this was likely going into the purchase but mention so others aren’t surprised. It’s sitting now on a shelf in the garage all cleaned in case of future need. I would buy again for mice but if it’s for anything bigger I think I would find something more sturdy. Hope this helps.
