These worked pretty well for my water tank repair, and the water holds great. The only surprise was that it seemed I had to heat up the airflow more than usual to melt them. They were priced right, and I feel they could be a bit thicker gauge, but overall I'm quite happy with the results.

Didn't have to use any reinforcement screen or staples (tried it this way first). Worked great with this HDPE rod. Filled a 1/4 inch wide by 1 inch long hole that was all the way through the tank. Used 1 rod. Fixed a pressure tank garden sprayer fast and easy. Holds full pressure now.

The HDPE welding rods worked fine and repaired the broken wheelie bin lid hinge.Very pleased with the product

I'm not used to plastic welding. There isn't any colour change similar to welding aluminium. It holds the heat so you need to let the piece cool down a bit. I just used my soldering iron with a flat wide tip. I'm not sure if a hot air gun or a plastic welding iron would work better. I welded a hole in my water softener tank from a sharp stone that it had been sitting on for years. The first try didn't work so I went over it again and also did the inside. That's been holding so far. This was my first try at using these rods but it's good to know that I have an option for hdpe problems.
