I bought this gunsafe as I was starting to build my pistol/handgun collection, and this product offers so many wonderful options. I have a lot of my sensitive documents in the upper retractable shelf that's provided as well adding modular gun/mag racks, I will definitely be getting more of these as my collection builds as well as I've been eyeing the rifle gunsafe as well. Definitely can't go wrong with Vaultek that's for sure.

Easy Setup, Heavy gauge metal, Securely hold you valuables and it's accessories that needs to be kept from inquisitive young hands and as long as it is bolted down I feel like it could stand up to some abuse if it came to it. For some reason it didn't like my older Wifi access point I use for all my IOT and home automation, but I put it on my main network and it has worked flawlessly.With the app on your phone it will alert you someone tampers with the fingerprint sensor or keypad, unplugs, or even jostles the unit. Lots of configurable options like whether and how long the interior light comes on when you open it, an alert that goes off if you leave the door open too long, and a remote (included) that can be hidden to open the unit from a distance. It can run for months on the included rechargable battery but it stays connected to Wifi so you get the fastest response when left plugged in with the included usb charger/cable although any usb power supply could be used.For extra protection I added a window sensor from my alarm provider to the door so it also trips the house alarm (and monitoring will call the police) if the door is opened while the alarm is in away mode which I would never do under normal circumstances. I can also push and hold it's test button to intentionally trigger the house alarm if for some reason it is not already triggered. I loved it so much I bought into the ecosystem and got their mobile unit also with fingerprint sensor so I have similar protection when secured in the car and when I travel. Their small mobile units don't have Wifi yet but it will alert you of tampering when you return and open the unit.They recommend registering multiple fingers multiple times and there are plenty of slots to do so and that works well, I find it recognizes your finger even if it is not perfectly aligned and regardless of orientation. More importantly it has rejected any fingerprints that are not registered (I've had several friends try).Wish List:Lithium Ion batteries instead of Alkaline in the mobile units, They already have a USB port for backup power to use the code or fingerprint sensor if the battery is dead.Wifi features and notification on the mobile units. My cars, any Hotel I'd stay in, and Second home all have Wifi and USB power nearby.Integrate Wifi units with home automation like Google Home or Alexa so it could trigger routines.Integrate Wifi units with home security systems like Nest, ADP or Simplisafe via API.Set profiles to specific codes and/or fingerprints i.e. If I open the unit with a certain fingerprint or code disable the light and door open alert so you don't reveal my position should that need arise.Never-the-less I highly recommend this safe for it's intended purpose and the Fingerprint Reader and Wifi are not a gimmick and easily worth the premium.

Overall great product. A little on the pricey side for the wifi. Easy set up. Great notifications for tamper on the unit if moved or wrong code put in. Overall construction seems solid. Wish the unit came with more accessories. A little pricey to add the foam block for more pistols etc. Easy to program and set up the finger print. Finger print scanner reads finger print every time with ease. Did not set up the nano key as it makes me a little uneasy to have that easy of access to the safe. App is okay. Mainly used for info on battery/ tamper / temp and humidity. Cannot communicate with safe thru the app. Push notifications from app can be set up. Feel good about purchase with 3 year included warranty after set up.

Below is my original review (originally 5*). Edited to add that after 6 months, the finger print scanner no longer works. I have registered my finger and cleaned the scanner with no luck. About a month after purchase it started to reduce effectiveness (took ~3 times to recognize) steadily got worse, and now takes ~20 tries to recognize. Very disappointing for such an expensive product.##########I bought this to replace another gun safe and am very satisfied. The design is very thoughtful. A few things I like:1- The fingerprint scanner works. In previous safes, there was always an issue with the scanner not working well. This led to anxiety of "will I be able to get to my firearm when I need it?" This one just works. I've used it many times and it almost always gets my fingerprint.2- The internal light is nice.3- The external charging point is important. I've had a previous safe where the battery died and I couldn't find the manual key. I had to call the manufacturer to get another key. With this safe, you can just plug it in and have access in under a minute.4- Lots of space, the pullout drawer is helpful, and the included pistol holder makes for easy access.5- Setup (password, fingerprint, wifi, bluetooth, app) were all incredibly easy and fast.There's also an app and the safe connects to wifi. I'm not sure if there's a benefit to that other than being notified when the safe is opened. If you store something where internal temperature or humidity matters, it records those.There's not much I would change. The only thing that even slightly annoyed me is the keypad doesn't have a 0 or 9, so if you favorite password uses one of those numbers, you'll need to come up with another.It's pricier than other options, but it's worth it.

I wish that the rating system was 1-10. This is about a 9 or 4.5 of 5.I original looked at this 8 pistol safe and bough a much cheaper 5 pistol one. It was a piece of junk. So, I came back and bough this one. Sometimes you get what you pay for.Pros:Holds 8 full sized pistols. Two Desert Eagles sit on the top shelf.Very solid and seems very hard to open without authorizationLike the app with status, that it can be configured to email you when tampered with and other infoKeypad and bio sensor light up if you pass you hand over making it easier to see in the darkKeypad seem to work wellCan be bolted to the wall to prevent someone from taking the safeGreat for self defense and needing quick access in the middle of the night.Doesn't need to be recharged often. The manual tells you not to leave it plugged in. I actually plugged it into a socket on a light switch so it only charges 30-45 min a day that I use the light. Seems to work pretty good.Netural:The bio sensor is much better than the first pistol safe I bough but for $599 I expect a little better. Manual does state that older people with worn out fingerprint might have issues. I have little problem with my cell phone and more with the safe. It is decent but for 599 should be better.Cons:It is pricy. If I need anymore space I would get one with just a key and less of the fancy stuff and pay a lot less.I bolted it to the wall seems a little easy to rip it from the wall with a crow bar. Nothing is perfect. I suggest to hide it well.The door open alarms is a little quick for my taste. I can't find a setting to make it longer. Would be nice if it was 10 min or longer.The light is pretty short if the safe is not charging and is in conserver battery mode. I would like a setting to keep it longer. I think it has a setting but I have it maxed.Overall I recommend it. If you have more than 8 Pistols I think I would get a 1 or 2 pistol quick access defense safe and a bigger not bio/quick access.Update 11/9/2021 I stand by my 4.5 rating on the safe. The finger sensor still doesn't seem to work as well as my cell phone but is good, better than another safe I bought. Would probably get another if I needed it but only really need one quick access safe. Probably will get a much bigger one once more is needed.
