Just used my flapped wheel for the first time today. Disappointed would be an understatement. Normally the sandpaper wears away taking an irregular shape or getting smaller in diameter. After single use of 8min in my cordless drill. The outer edge approx 1/8"-3/16" in, all the sand broke off leaving bare paper behind. The first Pic shows this garbage next to another brands wheel with 100 times more use and normal wear

Works very well on paint and removing rust from iron. If you have a large project, it will get expensive using this particular wheel at this price. I hope they will come up with a bulk price. Or I will have to find another alternative or a different tool. This is ideal if I can justify the price for refinishing my iron gate along my entire property line.

The product description lists the wheel as 60 grit but what I received was marked as 80.Otherwise, the product seems fine.

This fits perfectly for my Milwaukee Die Grinder. It holds together well at high RPMs. It doesn't seem to be as abrasive as claimed, but it does eventually get the job done. A bit of fluff does fly off at higher rpms, but not an excessive amount. Would probably work better with mild steel and aluminum than stainless steel.

Needing to sand and repaint about 100' of residential iron fence, I ordered this flap wheel thinking it could be a better alternative to a wire wheel. And definitely, for all but my nooks, crannies and pineapple-shaped rod ends, it's just the right tool.The design with some aggregate between the paper flaps seems to work really well for both abrasive work and longevity. Although still a bit soft to get into the corners - a wire wheel is still a good option there.Using my cordless yellow drill, I have done about 16' of the fence so far (spending 4 large batteries) and still have a little about 50% of the usable wheel material remaining. So I figure I will need maybe 4 more to finish the job. Which seems reasonable in quantity but the per-piece price is much higher than some of the competing packs of a dozen or so wheels.Update - after doing those first two sections of fence, I bit the bullet and purchased a die grinder, figuring I could burn out my drill and pay to replace it, or just buy the right tool for the job and come out ahead. That was a great move. I continue to get life out of this single wheel! I even purchased some others in a bulk pack, anticipating the amount of work still to be done, and the other wheels have all broken down considerably faster than this one. So even at the relatively high price point, it's proving to be really good value and I will purchase these wheels again in the future without hesitation -- especially if there could be a better bulk-purchase price option.
