This christening gown is of good quality, and fit very well. The smocking on the bodice and large bow tie in the back helped ensure a good fit. The cotton fabric which the gown is made from is soft but very thick. This gives the gown a rich feel and high quality look but it does also hold in heat so it may be best not to use this gown if you know the christening surroundings will be very warm or the ceremony very long. The bonnet was a bit too large for my daughter's head at her christening (2 months old) however it still looked adorable. She also hated the long gown touching her legs so we had to scrunch it up, but again, the whole thing looked adorable. Overall, I was very pleased and this offers good quality for a good price.

This is a beautiful and excellent quality gown. I've bought a 6-12 months and it fits my 4 month old perfectly

I am very pleased with this purchase and I hope this gown will be an heirloom for my daughter. The gown is well made of soft cotton fabric with delicate trim detail. I received multiple compliments on the gown, and several people asked if I had the dress handmade specially for my daughter!I liked the cotton fabric of this gown much better than the synthetic materials of other options on the market. The gown feels more timeless due to its subtle detail and I was also pleased that it is made in the USA. I know it will stand the test of time. The gown fit true to size (I ordered the 6-12 month for my 7 month old daughter) and it had extra room without being messy, the long skirt length was perfect for our church service and photos. This gown looks very nice in photographs. It has a nice weight to the fabric and the bonnet is just darling. We had photos taken with & without the bonnet. The bonnet does make the look a bit more old fashioned yet adorable and innocent for a small child.I purchased multiple gowns as I wanted to see them in person and choose the perfect dress for my daughter's special day. This was the winner by far! It is gorgeous/classic but not overly adorned. Some of the other dresses were too ornate and the synthetic fabrics looked cheap/tacky in person. I was looking for a vintage timeless look, not a baby prom dress.

I bought this gown in an XS (0-3 mos.) for my now 3 week old daughter's baptism in a couple weeks. I was deliberating between this and another similar style gown, looking for something of good quality, cotton and simple (not overly fancy) with an heirloom/vintage look. After reading the positive reviews on this dress, I purchased it. I am very glad I did. As other buyers noted, the dress is of very good quality with added (undescribed) details that really make the dress much better than described by the manufacturer. It has pearl buttons on the back, is a nice cotton fabric and appears to run true to size (I haven't washed nor tried it on her yet). I do not plan to use the bonnet, but it is of equal quality as well. Plus, the seller shipped it fast, as it arrived 2 days after I bought it! I would definately recommend this to anyone looking for an affordable, quality, simple yet classy baptismal gown.

When we had a baby girl for our sixth child after 5 wonderful boys (I guess I should change my Amazon name!), I wanted to get her an especially beautiful infant blessing gown -- something that would be heirloom quality to be saved and passed on if she wants to. I bought several of the most popular christening dresses on Amazon, as well as a few Feltman Bros dresses. This is the dress I kept, all the rest went back! This dress is beautiful for several reasons. It's 100% cotton, so it has an old-fashioned soft thick feel that the cotton-poly Feltman Brothers dresses didn't have. My mother-in-law also said that the 100% cotton would stay whiter than the cotton-poly as it ages if I store it for several years. It's a fairly long dress, and the fabric is thick (but not hot since it's cotton), so it has an expensive feel. It has adorable faux-pearl buttons at the back which look so much richer than the plain white buttons of the Feltman Bros dresses. But the main reason we kept this dress was the fit. It's hard to have a dress that fits a newborn size 0-3 months and everything in between, and this dress did it best. It has elastic around the arm openings which make it fit nice and snug (but not tight). And the bodice is gathered with a bit of stretch where the smocking is, so it fits well there too. And it has a beautiful thick long fabric tie for the back that gathers in any extra at the waist so that it fits well there too.The brand of this dress (Swea' Pea and Lilli) makes several of the top Amazon christening dresses, and they are all very nice. They all have a nice weight to them and lots of the beautiful details this one has. I chose this one because it had simple old-fashioned features (plain cotton instead of modern-looking embroidery, simple smocking instead of shiny lace details, etc), but the other dresses in this line are also beautiful. If you're looking for something trendy or modern or fancy or like your baby is going to prom, this is definitely not the dress for you. My older boys asked why their sister is wearing a pioneer dress :). If another Swea' Pea and Lilli dress suits your style better, it will also be made beautifully like this one is.I fully expected to love the Feltman Bros dresses the best, since they are so much more expensive at a hundred each. But this dress I honestly felt was nicer quality, had more special details, fit better, and was 100% cotton. I was surprised I liked it so much, since it looked somewhat plain and boring in the picture. It's a beautiful dress, don't let the price or the picture fool you.Lastly, don't disregard the bonnet! It's so incredibly adorable! It made the outfit, and we chose to use it instead of the white elastic head bow I planned on using. How many times in your daughter's life is she going to have a chance to wear a bonnet?! It makes it extra special, and looks so wonderfully old-fashioned :). Just snip the ribbon apart at the bottom so you can tie it properly under her chin.Enjoy your beautiful baby and her special day!
