I love it! I assembled it and couldn’t cock it. Watched some YouTube videos on how to reset trigger mechanism. Reset, able to cock crossbow and shoot pellet. It looks awesome also

Horrible experience. From shipping, to misleading information about the crossbow. First off, this particular item kept popping up on my search list saying "only 9 left" or "only two left" or "out of stock". I waited two months since November 2024 for the product to be available with over 9 in stock. After countless hours of video research and Amazon reviews, I decided it was interesting enough to pursue. I have 2 other pistol crossbows that are magazine fed/ and repeating to compare against. The quality of the Mantis feels rock solid. Made from aluminum and steel with a nice cushion grip. Very easy to cock and very easy to assemble. The scope/ laser mounting rails are neither picatinny or weaver and are useless. I liked the idea of having a mounting rail towards the back of the crossbow and an additional rail in front of the trigger guard. These rails are about 3/4 the width of picatinny/ weaver rails. You will not see the true reviews of William Tell archery on this product unless you order it and another "hidden access" to reviews will be revealed . There were at least 4 other reviews with the same exact problems as I've dealt with. Every complaint was" late shipping/ damaged and returned and item automatically reordered ". I reached out to William Tell first. They said to reach out to Amazon. I reached out to Amazon and they said to reach out to William Tell. That should've been my red flag. I figured, I waited this long, I'm not going to get a refund without at least trying the crossbow out. After the first delay in shipping, another 2 weeks was added to the shipping date. I finally got ahold of someone at Amazon and before the crossbow arrived, I was rewarded with full refund and I get to keep the crossbow. I'm not one for handouts, but this was much deserved. After I received the crossbow and shot about 100 bolts I called and got my refund. In a nutshell, I'm guessing these are straight from China and I believe when you order one, China waits until there are enough orders placed to save on shipping. I don't believe these are sitting in an Amazon warehouse waiting to be shipped.Now as far as the quality of the crossbow, it's decent at best. The safety got stuck after about 10 shots. I figured it out and pushed it further in and it fixed itself the next time I pulled the cable back. As far as the ball bearings shooting option, I'd give it a negative number if I could. The access to shoot ball bearings was the main reason I was interested in this crossbow. These bearings wouldn't penetrate an empty 2 liter bottle at 20 feet away. That is pathetic. There is no chance of this being 60lbs draw weight. It's more like 40. I haven't even attempted the fishing spool setup, and I doubt I ever will. If these cables ever break or rust, I don't think I would bother replacing. This would become a paper weight. For $30, this would be still too expensive. The mini bolts (2 1/2 inch) shoot surprisingly accurate. The longer bolts were all over the place and 2 actually shattered. My other crossbow pistols shoot all different brands of 6 1/2" bolts with no problems. The Mantis will not shoot the common bolts, keep that in mind. Although I bought 60 of the mini bolts and they seem to be good quality. The diameter of the common bolts were too big. If you watch the video of the William Tell representative testing this crossbow out, he clearly states the Mantis will use common bolts found anywhere. This guy should be fired on the spot. Just remember, Special bolts are needed, and good luck mounting any type of red dot or laser. These are blatant lies on the description of this crossbow. These are my main reasons for the low rating. I hope this helps at least one person on the fence and asking themselves the same questions I had. I do not recommend this product at all. I'm greatful for a full refund and keeping the item but, bad misleading information will prevent me from ever purchasing anything from William Tell Archery again.

This thing is awesome hours of fun! Quality versatile and pretty handy

As this is my first c/b pistol, I am very happy with my selection.. Of all the possibilties to choose from this Mantis stuck out for many reasons. But when it arrived and opened the box, I was pleasantly please! the pistol handle feels great in the hand. The bow part comes preassembled and all that is needed is to attach the bow with 2 sturdy allen head screws. The construction for me, I would say is top notch! The bow uses 2 metal cables (not string). Making this crossbow last much longer with prolonged tension thru-out. The draw is smooth and easy to cock and load. This came with the steel shot as well as 3 darts, 3 fishing bolts, 3 target bolts, 3 small spooled fish line ready to attach. It did take a little bit to hone in accuracy, but once achieved it is a very nice toy. But do not get me wrong this is definately NOT a toy by any means!!! This has PENETRATION!!!

I bought this as a fun toy for myself. It’s much stronger than anticipated though aiming take a bit. The bb option is great
