i used a jewelry crimping tool and very carefully squeezed them shut into some laces that were coming undone, they have since held up fine, and they look like the pictures :)

These aglets are super fun! They are easy to use (I use an aglet pliers), and look really good. Using an aglet pliers they look like a factory lace. You do need to be careful to not scratch the finish while in the pliers, but it's easy if you take your time. So far I've repaired and made laces and hoodie strings and am looking for more things that could use aglets! I love these and will be ordering again when I run low!

I did an ok job by gently using an electrical connector crimping tool. If you have a 9/64" drill bit, a good clamp, and a couple of 3/4" (7/8" to 1" is better) hard close-grained hardwood blocks like hard maple or rubberwood, you can do an excellent job. One end of each block will need to be machine crosscut. You can cut the rest by handsaw and make them roughly 1-1/2" long and 1" wide. Flush and clamp the blocks end to end and drill through at the joint. Allow the drill to follow the joint; don't push hard. Rub a small wadded ball of wax paper in the hole halves to lubricate. Once you have the aglet assembled with the lace and finger pressure, clamp the two blocks together with the aglet in the two sides of the hole. Apply enough clamping force to make the blocks come completely together. I had best results by turning the aglet 90° and clamping a second time.

Really easy to install onto a shoe lace or paracord which makes lacing them up a lot easier. It’s a really great kit that everyone should own especially since you can use it to repair old laces as well as new to replace the plastic ends that they come with.
