As advertised. Recommended. It did have trouble going around a bend (albeit the bend was troublesome).

I checked my vents with this, the camera clarity is good, but not excellent.Due to the stiffness of the scope, it was difficult to get a good view in the ducts as there is no way to bend the end of the scope the way you want once it's in there, so you have to wriggle it and hope you can get a better view.The scope rigidity is flexible but rigid enough to feel it will last a while. Attaching the scope to the hand unit was a tad confusing, as I didn't want to break the pins. It does fit, but there is only one way or will fit, so make sure you don't go ramming the scope attachment without first looking how the pins are aligned. Then you need to screw lock it, kind of like the back of a cable modem.The handheld unit was easy to hold, but the images that show camera, directional arrows, settings, menu, off/on, were in black, so unless you memorize the operation buttons, you'll have to look closely to determine which button to click on.It comes with a magnet attachment and a hook attachment. The magnet is tiny, but strong like those neodymium magnets. The claw would be useful for removing hairy drain clogs.The whole unit feels well made, and despite not seeing the icons on the buttons, it is fairly intuitive operation. The manual is good for those that need it.Overall, solid build, decent visual images, but no way to manipulate the end of the scope once inserted into drain/vent etc.

For a do-it-yourselfer there is nothing quite as gratifying as a tool that does what it is supposed to do really, really well. This tool fits that description. For context I am graduating from one of those cable endoscopes you plug directly into your phone. If you have used one of those you are well aware of their shortcomings. This device fixs all of those shortcomings.First of all it's great not to have to use your phone or be connected to the internet for it to work. It is fully self contained. You can hook up it to your phone and wireless network if you are so inclined but I prefer not to.It has a very high quality hi definition 1920X1080 display. It comes with a 32 gig micro SD card to allow you to record still photos and videos without concerns about storage capacity.Both the forward facing lens and the lateral lens are good quality and sharp. The LED lighting has 3 brightness settings plus off that are more than adequate. For most purposes you won't need the brightest setting.The display can be set for front or side or both simultaneously and flipped upside down. A particularly useful feature coming from that aforementioned device is its ability to freeze an image on the screen. Otherwise it can be extremely difficult to hold the probe steady enough to be useful.The 2 attachments are really well engineered. They don't clip on as you might expect. They are threaded on after removing a tiny thread protector on the lens. The magnet attachment is surprisingly strong. In the photo it is lifting a 50 gram weight I happen to have around. My sense was it would handle a good bit more.The manual it comes with is well written and useful. Scan a link from it and download a PDF version to your phone. There are scanable links to other resources and YouTube videos. Most impressive of all check out what is printed on the back of the case......actual customer service contact information 20 ways to Sunday. Definitely a good sign.I have only one small complaint about this device. The icons on all the buttons are black on black and virtually impossible to distinguish in other than perfect light. It should resolve once muscle memory sets in but still is something that would be easy to correct.Great device just the same. Highly recommended.
