Initially pleased with the product, but was alarmed when I discovered that the switch was closed when the float was “sunk” and open when “floating”. I don’t usually work with this type of float switch, but I originally concluded that it was faulty given that it should close when “floated” as the item was described. Dammit!On a hunch, I removed the little circlip which allowed the removal of the float for flipping 180° (end for end). My multimeter now indicated it was working as described! I was so happy I figured it out before installing into the urine jug of my composting/desiccating/dry toilet. It would have been impossible to reach the circlip and float after installation.I don’t recall having seen this detail within the item description, and the manufacturer/seller would do well to add it.

I could not find any descriptions detailing how much current this switch could handle. The lead wires are about 22 gauge which suggests only very low current applications such as an aquarium pump or valve, or control voltage for a contactor.

Does not shut off. Should have tested before install. This is a magnetic float switch, which is fine, however it does not work. Buyer beware, depending on your application you could have a flood or burned out pump. Also if it worked the wire size is very light only very light electrical load is appropriate. Would love a refund, but I doubt it will happen, not worth anything, let alone the time to ship back. Oh and yes I know how to wire it, test it and trouble shoot it.

It has enough switching capacity to control a small solenoid valve no problem. I wish it had a little deadband from off to on but since I'm filling the tank very slowly it's not an issue for my application. Any agitation on the liquid level might be a problem with it hammering on/off if you are switching directly and not just using it as a signal.
