Got this as a gift. My friend loves it. I have no experience either cartomancy so can’t offer anything on its value as a resource.

I really enjoyed this book, it was a refreshing change from some of the more basic books that just offer an overview of the Tarot. I found this book especially applicable to myself as I am a practicing folk Witch, so a lot of the cartomancy practices in this book echo the genuine practices I was taught

You will not find a better book on cartomancy on the market. Roger Horne's masterpiece makes a persuasive, powerful argument for practicing playing-card cartomancy in this day and age. When compared to countless tarot and oracle decks, "put simply, folk cartomancy offers us a connection to our past and to arts that are skill-based rather than product-based, cunning rather than consumerist" (8). Horne's book is informed by several older works of cartomancy. It deftly weaves together meanings of cards with reading methods. You will not find long lists of keywords; what you'll find here is a guidebook on HOW to practice cartomancy. Brilliant and well worth your time and money.

I was very hesitant to pay for another copy of a book I already have - especially being that it is on cartomancy. But, I trust Roger J. Horne as an author, and decided to take the leap. I am so glad that I did, too.Just as wonderful as the original, but now greatly expanded, this book is a perfect guide to any who want to learn the art of cartomancy. In this edition, each card is given far more in-depth meaning than the previous edition, which gave scarcely any information on each individual card but instead focused on the reader coming to their own meanings. That is fair, but in the first edition I always wanted to know how the author interpreted the cards as a guide, so I could them compare and make notes as I practiced. Now, that's possible.And of course, there is the invaluable section on having the cards in witchcraft practice specifically. The methods and spells given are, as always, incredibly evocative and absolutely beautiful - with the added benefit of working beautifully.5/5, 100% recommend this book to all. A well written, interesting, book on Cartomancy.The meanings for each card are explained in a very relatable manner, and embrace numerological and suit references.As such, it is easy to work out what the individual cards are saying, what their position in spreads is saying and what their proximity to other cards indicates.Marvellous stuff. 😀
