Had to edit this review. After installing item wasn't closing the door completely. My first thought was it doesn't work as well as I hoped and most of the reviews were right. Turns out it was an installation error on my part. Turns out good door wasn't completely squared up. After a little adjustment it turns out the product works as advertised and I could be happier. So a little hint is to check everything make sure door is square, plumb, and level. That the wheels are rolling freely, and track is free of debris. This item will close the door so well it is almost to hard and will need to be turned down a little. Now my 98 lb German Shepherd can come and go as she wants, without leaving the door wide open.

We purchased this automatic closer for our sliding glass door off our deck. We were in need of this product because our Border Collie was opening the slider to go outside but never closed the slider when he exited. (He figured how to open the slider but we never figured out how to teach him to then close it.) In the middle of winter an open slider was a chilly prospect.The product made opening the slider difficult and it never really completely closed. Not sure if it was our installation that was the problem, or if other things came into play. The product is adjustable, so there is the opportunity to tighten or loosen. Our 18 year old grandson had a go at adjusting things with no real change.In the end, the Border Collie became stronger and was able to open the slider even with the product installed. The slider did not close completely and we never really fixed the problem. That said, winter left and spring arrived, which fixed the problem until fall.

Is an excellent idea but did not work for me. I have a Hurricane Impact sliding door, I believe these doors are way too heavy for this door closer, will not shut the door close. Good seller experience though. If you have a lighter door, go for it.
