Got this for my wife who has recenly taken up crocheting. It is a good beginners kit. Comes with whatever you may need to get started, for this project. She loves the movie monster's inc, so this was a win-win. I would definitely say, don't expect perfection, haha. Once you get the crocheting pattern down, it gets easier. At first she was definitely discouraged. Not an item issue, just a lack of experience. Quite a cute gift idea. I would say a definite decent value for the money. She does a little every week or so. It's just a nice way to relax on days when she has a few minutes to herself. The colors are a good match for the character and it will look good once it's all finished.

I'm a newbie who is struggling to find the time to finish learning and finish the kit, but here are my impressions so far. The kit is unassuming at first coming in a very generic box, but inside is a quality kit. The yarn feels good quality and soft. They even gave you a little extra to start practicing with. The hooks are big and comfortable. It also has all the other little bits and bobs you need. It also comes with two books. First is the teaching manual that gets you started and teaches the basics. The other is the instructions to make the doll. Both are beautifully printed. and durable. It will be easy to follow them. I can't wait to actually make headway into the actual doll, but for now this has been a good kit to practice the starting techniques with.

I have certainly seen better beginner kits, but for the price, this can't be beat. We do wish it was a little bit more informative on how to crochet in general and how tight to make each stitch etc., but the videos were still a lot more helpful than beginner kits that come with nothing.

This is a cute and nice crochet set, but it’s not ideal for a complete beginner. I ordered this kit for my daughter, who wanted to learn how to crochet from scratch. While the set includes almost everything you need (except for a glue gun) and comes with an instructional booklet, it turned out to be a bit too challenging for her as a total beginner.I think this kit would be perfect for someone who already has some basic crochet knowledge or has an adult available to guide them through the process. Overall, it’s a good-quality set, just better suited for those with some experience.

This crochet kit was so easy to follow. I made this for my grandson and he loved it.
