Turns out really cute, but I'm glad I had a little experience with another kind of beginners crochet with that type of yarn. After learning the basics I was able to do this.

I enjoyed this project over all! It was my 3rd crochet project, and I’m glad that I had some background knowledge before I began… Here is how I would rate the pieces in this kit…Yarn Quality- 2/5: The yarn splits easily and I would say that the colors don’t match the photo perfectly. The base of the cake was darker than I expected.Written Directions- 4/5: I liked that there were step by step instructions for the knots, abbreviations, and the pattern.Videos- 4/5: The video tutorials were easy to follow.Finished product was so cute!

I am giving this 3 stars for now, but may update in the future to lower the rating, depending on how well it goes together.My daughter is 10 and has made 5 crochet plushies / amigurumi on her own using the W brand kits. She hasn't needed my help one bit. This kit advertised videos, and since it is significantly cheaper than the W kits, I bought it. To be clear for all - THE VIDEOS ARE NOT STEP BY STEP LIKE THE W-BRAND VIDEOS ARE. There is a video for each type of stitch and how to read a pattern, but then you are on your own. To me, this is very much false advertising when they mention providing videos.
