The DXZtor Articulating borescope is a pro-grade tool with many home uses.Perfect timing. My borescope arrived, and I noticed a swarm of wasps around my steps. I did not relish crawling under my deck to find the nest but quickly determined the nest's location by feeding the borescope through the spaces between my decking. I have an older borescope, but the 9MM probe was too large to slip between the spaces in the deck. The borescope has an articulating head, so I could search between studs until I found the nest. While I still had to crawl under my deck to destroy the hive, I could pinpoint the position and didn't blunder into a nest crawling around on my belly. The borescope comes with a portioned storage case that holds everything safely. The unit breaks down for storage and can be assembled without tools. The instruction manual is clear, with labelled illustrations explaining every button and feature. There's no learning curve. The borescope is very intuitive and balances well in the hand. The one-meter snake is semi-rigid and strikes the perfect balance between flexibility and stability. The cable is metal-wrapped and reinforced at the stress point where it attaches to the handle. A handle on the unit allows you to position the camera where you want. A built-in adjustable LED light illuminates the area you are looking at.The 11 cm screen is clear, though there is some reflection on the screen outdoors. You can take a picture to document a spot and time stamp the image. This requires an SD card, which is not included. If you monitor water or animal damage, capturing images will help you register the scope of damage over time. The unit charges via a USB C port. A cable and a cleaning cloth are included.I will use this in my garage this winter for a diesel engine I'm rebuilding, and if I'm feeling courageous, I will use it to look behind my kitchen stove and refrigerator! :-) I fear I'll not be able to unsee that!

The articulation feature of this borescope is very helpful for maneuvering the camera around corners as well as viewing items behind the camera. I like that the camera is slim and can be rotated 180° to inspect valves inside of an engine which is something I'm unable to do with a typical borescope. A drawback I noticed however, is that the instructions say not to have the camera line in a coil and to keep it as straight as possible otherwise it can damage the articulation mechanism. The video quality is decent although for 1080p it seems fairly grainy especially while in motion and in low lighting conditions. It has an option to change the resolution from 720p to 1080p although I personally don't notice any difference. I used this to locate and inspect a broken component in my truck and it took me a while as I needed to move the camera slowly otherwise I would lose track of where the camera was. I find that the 15fps frame rate makes the video somewhat blurry, choppy and difficult to focus on fine details. When the camera isn't being moved, the image quality is easy to see.The screen is also easy to see in dark areas although I find it to be difficult in bright or sunny locations and the screen brightness is unable to be adjusted. The camera can't be manually focused although it has an option to electronically zoom in which is helpful. I also like that it has the ability to take pictures and videos which are stored on a removable SD card and can be viewed from the camera's screen or from a computer. A 32gb SD card was included although it doesn't include any attachments for the camera such as a hook or magnet. The build quality of the screen and handle is decent and it's mostly made of a lightweight hard plastic. The screen connects to the handle securely and I like that it can be compactly stored in the case so it doesn't take up too much space in my toolbox. The borescope line feels durable as it's made of corrugated steel and is rigid enough to hold its shape where I bend it, while still being flexible enough to maneuver on its own in tight spaces. Overall this is a helpful borescope and the line is roughly 3’ long which I find to be sufficient for most jobs, especially for vehicle maintenance.

The DXZtoz articulating borescope is durable, easy to use and offers excellent picture quality. It comes very nicely packaged and includes a USB-C charging cable, a protective carrying case and the user manual. The unit has a sturdy and sleek build quality so it should last for a long time. It's easy and intuitive to use with large control buttons. The image quality is excellent. The large screen provides a clear view of the inspection site, while the adjustable LEDs ensure well-lit visuals, even in dark environments. The snake camera delivers sharp and detailed images, aiding in accurate assessments. It's much better than the inexpensive units that use apps on the phone. The waterproof cable adds durability, allowing for use in various wet environments. On the downside, with the 3.3-foot length some users may find it a bit too short. A longer cable option would be beneficial for extended reach. Overall, this is a valuable tool for all types of inspections, offering versatility and image quality. It's a solid choice for professionals or for DIY projects around the house in need of precise visual assessments. Full marks from me!
