I read the reviews, so I was not surprised by the chord guitar training tool. The strings are loose, but tight enough to feel the resistance. They are not as tight as a guitar, but this is not a guitar. It does not have any sound. Again, it is not a guitar or guitar-like instrument. The screen rotates and is big enough and bright enough to easily read.It is great for getting your fingers to recognize the chord shapes. That is the biggest problem when learning guitar. It does not help with your arm muscle memory. I am talking about learning where the frets are on the guitar you own. It does not help with learning how to angle your forearm while keeping your elbow close to your body.I thought I would use it more. What I realized is that when I have a few minutes free time, if I am home, it is better to use the guitar. If I am out somewhere, I find I left it at home. I will probably give it to my granddaughter. She is wanting to learn how to play and this is very helpful with that.

I looked through a few listings of this exact item and I read the reviews on all of them and most of the reviews are negative. This is EXACTLY as it’s described and I’m very happy w my purchase. This tool is to help you learn hand positions and notes, it’s not designed to play sounds. The instructions are clear and easy to read (the instructions are also listened in the description). I’m not familiar w music notes at all so it’s going to take me a while to figure out exactly what set up I want but the instructions for how to do it is clear.I noticed on another listing that the seller clearly explained how to put in the battery. There’s a small cushion dead center of where the battery is supposed to be placed on top, the battery doesn’t click in securely. If you remove that cushion the tool will not function. I’m happy I read through the reviews on multiple listings and found that out, I was expecting it to feel secure and click in when I put in the battery. I slowly placed it and it worked fine.Im trying to do some exposure therapy and read up/watch tutorials during my free time at work but I can’t bring a full sized guitar to my job. Im so happy this exists! It’s exactly what I was looking for to help me w muscle memory and learning notes and hand positions when I’m out!

The first thing I want to say is I don't think it is fair to have bad reviews that expect this to be anything more than a screen that tells you basic note positions, and decent strings to place your fingers on. I think this little portable device is an excellent way to practice notes without holding an entire guitar. You can practice anywhere at any time with something this small. The tension on the strings is actually pretty good, and yes they are very adjustable, but again, "playing" it is not what it was designed for, it's ONLY for note position practice. These people trying to act like a 7" section of fretboard is a miniature guitar and then getting angry and writing bad reviews makes me feel bad for the company, it's completely undeserved.

Worthless! Procrastinated in returning this POS, now I'm out $30 +tax. Initially bought this product thinking it would register the accuracy of my fingering of the chords. It did not. First off, instructions are in broken English. They didn't even bother to translate properly. Second, no way to tune, which doesn't matter because there is no volume or resonance chamber to carry the sound. An Allen wrench is provided to tighten the "strings". Or perhaps better described as "tensioning" the strings as the unit sent to me was so loose I wondered if they were even attached. All in all, I have no idea what this product was intended to do. The one positive item is that the cord names are shown along with the finger placement. Other than that, if you want to practice chords, use a guitar or anything else besides this waste of money.
