As my headline summarizes, these sponges are easily some of the most durable I have ever encountered and used. I was perplexed when I opened the package to see sponges of ¼ inch height (they come shrinkwrapped individually). The directions for use tell you to:1. Open the package2. Add Water3. Squeeze SpongeI followed those instructions, but the sponge remained the same height. While preparing to clean my bathroom, I set the sponge underneath my faucet with the water running. When I turned around, I was shocked to see a sponge that had expanded to over 2 ½ inches in height. I cleaned thoroughly and roughly, rinsing the sponge frequently (wringing by twisting), and to my surprise, it returned to its previous form immediately. When I say I cleaned roughly, I scrubbed so hard that the other sponges I usually buy and utilize would have bits and pieces coming off. However, this one saw no such issues. After inspection, I finally finished cleaning and found no wear on the sponge. I also found no scratches or damage to my bathroom's most delicate surfaces. The sponge transferred none of its colors, and I could clean my bathroom much quicker due to its size. Surprisingly, I could reach small places that I felt would be impossible (I am still uncertain how that was achievable). The patriotic design looks excellent and is a bonus to an incredible product. Sometimes, you try something new and find it so effective that it becomes your brand for many years. I can confidently say this sponge brand is my new go-to. Try it; if your experience (via use) is anything close to mine, you will not regret it and will not be disappointed. 5/5 – a perfect product.

Nice and absorbent. Once opened it takes about half an hour to fully grow to its regular size, but then the sponge quality is good, the thickness is great, and it retains water very nicely. I used this for grouting and cleaning pots. Seem to be durable although the paint colors will come off I'm sure. good size too.

This set of 2 sponges is named "The Spangled Set" because each makes a part of the US flag...1 blue with white stars, 1 red with white stripes. Each sponge is a generous 5.9 x 3.9 x 2.2 inches, individually packaged compressed to about 3/8" thick in vacuum sealed clear vinyl pouches.Household sponges are typically made of two main materials: Natural cellulose or synthetic polyurethane foam. This set is the latter. Unlike cellulose that you often see compressed into wafers without vacuum packaging and expand when placed in water, these synthetic sponges will puff up after released from their vacuum packaging without water.HACK: For me, the full size would be waay too large for general use around the kitchen...so I decided to cut the sponge in half. Knowing that synthetic foam would start to "decompress" quickly after opening, I used a ruler and sharp utility knife to cut right through the compression pouch and compressed foam, resulting in a clean, straight cut when the sponge poofed up. I now have 2 useful-sized 4 x 3 x 2 inch star spangled sponges from 1 sponge.LIMITATIONS (cons): Natural cellulose sponges (like Scotch Brite Ocelo) are very absorbant and can be used for washing and wiping. But synthetic sponges (like Sponge Daddys) are best suited for just washing and not very good at wiping surfaces. They aren't as absorbant and release liquid as you wipe, leaving streaks of water on your counters. The downside of cellulose is they shrink, harden, and curl when dry (but soften quickly when wet). Synthetic remains soft and maintins its shape when dry.This set is realistically priced at $3 per jumbo sponge, with an added benefit that the separately compressed sponge takes very minimal storage space. The sponges and packaging are premium quality. And if you're an American, the cute patriotic theme is an added bonus.

This was my first time ordering compressed sponges, and I was a bit skeptical how big they'd get, because they arrived pretty flat. But as soon as I started adding water, wow! It just kept getting bigger and bigger. The finished product is a large, seemingly durable sponge. It's too big for washing dishes, but would be great for cleaning tubs or washing cars. They'd be perfect for a patriotic themed car wash fundraiser! I haven't used them enough yet to know how long they'll last, but they seem pretty sturdy so far. Overall pretty decent value, can recommend!

Great sponges, got scared at first when they arrived, the looked like napkins, but inflated to normal size after following instructions.
