I like mountain biking. I get out a few times a week. Third time out with these shoes, cornering around a rock, and yes, the top of the shoes scraped on a rock. I considered it to me pretty minor, hardly noticed coming down the mountain. But is completely destroyed the mech that winds up the wire. The mech is sown into the shoe, so not easily replaced. All soft plastic innards. Not the quality I was expecting

Very comfortable shoe and durable. They are a little heavier but I couldn’t really tell a difference on the trails. If you want some shoes lighter - stay on the road, roadies!!!

I was looking for a riding shoe with a recessed cleat. These are frequently used by mountain bike riders but I use them on my road bike with dual platform pedals which allow me to pedal unclipped while on the street vs. trail. Traditional road bike shoes/cleats are not recessed making it difficult to get off your bike and walk around, enter a store or restaurant. However, a newer feature on road shoes is the “boa” lacing system for infinite adjustment of tightness of lacing. This feature is hard to find on a traditional mountain bike shoe. This shoe possesses the best attributes of both types; recessed cleat and boa lacing system. Super comfortable and perfectly functional for my needs. Love these shoes!

These shoes have become my only shoes to MTB. Tough, comfortable and so easy to get on. Goodbye shoelaces.
