I had to park under the EL tracks at one point and didn’t want to have anything from the tracks affect the paint job on my car. It fit my oversized SUV but it was still a bit loose. If it was a windy day, it would have for sure blown off. Maybe good for an emergency , single use but don’t expect multiple uses. It’s very easy to tear if it gets snagged.

Ok I had to laugh at myself for getting this but my thought process was that maybe I could get this to work as a less expensive alternative for protecting my car from hail when it is stuck outside in a storm. We haven't had a hail storm yet but I was thinking I could fold up two bedspreads, one for the roof and one for the hood, and then put the plastic on top of that. Surely it would either protect it from damage or at the very least it would reduce the damage from hail. I have looked up the lil blowup gadgets that people use to protect their vehicles from hail and while they are great they are crazy expensive. I'm going to try this. Might sound goofy but I am willing to try it if it'll save me from having to buy the more expensive alternative.

Very thin. Will rip while you try to pull it apart or while trying to put it on your car. You're lucky if you get one use out of it. Doesn't give mil of plastic but definitely not high mil.

I recently tried out the Dalekay disposable car covers and found them to be a surprisingly effective solution for short-term vehicle protection. Made from high-quality polyethylene plastic, these covers are lightweight yet resilient enough to shield your car from dust, rain, snow, and even those pesky bird droppings, keeping your vehicle clean and tidy. One of the standout features is the size of the covers, which are generously dimensioned at 12.5 x 21.7 ft, making them suitable for various sedan sizes and even small SUVs like a Rav4. The elastic bands at the front and rear ensure a snug fit, which is crucial for keeping the cover in place, especially in windy conditions. However, there are a few caveats to consider. The material, while resistant to tearing, is quite thin and lightweight, which can make the installation process a bit challenging on a windy day. Additionally, for vehicles with large or pointy antennas, modifications might be needed—like poking holes and sealing them with duct tape—to accommodate the cover, which isn't ideal but manageable.Despite these minor issues, the utility of these covers cannot be overstated. They are not only easy to use but also immensely practical for various scenarios. Whether you're dealing with a broken window, a stuck-down window, or unexpected paint spray from nearby renovations, these covers provide a quick and efficient protective layer. I had an experience a few years back where my car got accidentally sprayed with paint due to wind carrying it from a nearby house; if I had one of these covers then, it would have saved me hours of cleaning or even costly repairs. In conclusion, if you're looking for a temporary and affordable solution to protect your vehicle from the elements or unforeseen incidents, the Dalekay disposable car covers are totally worth considering. They might be simple, but they can indeed save the day and spare you hours of cleaning or expensive repairs.

These polyethylene covers are large enough for a small SUV like the Rav4. For cars with large, pointy antennas it may be a bit of a hassle to make these fit, have to get creative and poke holes, then duck-tape to seal around them, I guess. The material is real thin and very lightweight, but it resists tearing. I guess it would be real hard to put on this cover alone in a windy day, though. The bottom string would prevent it from migrating through the neighborhood, not sure how well it may withstand hours and days of strong winds. For a quick and lightweight protection against the elements, this would do: I think of happenings like having a window stuck down, or glass broken or missing, for protection before getting the issue fixed. I wish I had one of these covers (and the intuition to use it) years ago, when I passed by the house to see how a paint job was going and even though the car was not close to the house it got a good spraying brought by the wind, took me long hours of toiling to clean. For things like these, it doesn’t take a strong cover to save the day and spare hours of cleaning if not even costly repairs. So, in my opinion, these are totally worth it.
