The listing dodges what this really is designed for. Though the pictures do show that. It is not waterproof and overall a poor shape for EDC use. I may still find an use as part of my bag carry.

I don't use tobacco but I do like to hike or go places while it rains so I wanted to try out this case. It's pretty lightweight and the plastic doesn't feel very robust so I wasn't very sure of how well it would work. I tested it by putting a piece of tissue paper inside and then running it under my sink sprayer for over a minute. I was pleasantly surprised when I opened up the case and the paper and entire insides were dry. I didn't put it completely under water for a long time because I don't see myself in a situation where that would happen while I'm using it. But I'm confident if it did get submerged for a few seconds the contents will be dry. Like if I needed to rinse off some dirt or mud, I wouldn't be worried about putting it under running water or swishing it quickly in a lake or river. As far as use cases go, it is a bit limiting due to the size. But I was able to "double stack" 9 AA batteries in it very easily. It can hold things like charging cables and a really short and thin portable charger. Maybe your ID, some credit cards and a small bundle of cash. Another reviewer mentioned things for starting camp fires while outdoors, which I think is a great idea. For the price point I still recommend it for functionality and quality. As long as you understand that it's not IP waterproof rated or impact rated, and you manage your expectations, this could be a useful item.

This is a basic plastic case with a clip-closure, watertight seal, and lanyard strap. As shown in my photos, it does float -- which is important if you're going to be using it near bodies of water.I tested the waterproofing by placing a 1-inch square paper towel inside the case, and then submerged it in 6-inches of water for 5 minutes. Upon opening the case there were no signs of water seepage, so it passed the water test.As you can see by the product listing's photos, there are lots of uses for a case like this. Personally, I have three ideas for how I'm going to use it:1) Insert some matches and cotton swabs, and store it in a go bag.2) Bring it along on a camping trip to store notes, money, or perhaps vitamins.3) On beach days, use it to hold cash and ID cards. At the current price point ($8), this is a good buy.

I got this to make an emergency fishing kit out of. It worked pretty well. It's tall and flat, so everything kind of got shoved down in it, but I think it worked great. The plastic is rigid and thick. It's not floppy or flexible. There's a tiny seal inside the lid. It clamps shut. The clamp is secure and the seal is watertight, at least as far as floating in a pond. Good value and easy to carry. I wish I had a few more. They'd also make perfect emergency fire starter kits and first aid kits, and soap shaving containers.
