First off...fully charge the lamp with the usb cable before using. All remote functions work as described when the unit is fully charged. Very bright at night in the outdoor kitchen. Flickering candle mode works great when fire pit is going. A nice amber glow that matches the fire. I would suggest applying grease to the threads if you are going to keep it outside in the elements. I was impressed with the build quality and overall appearance, so much I ordered the table lamp version and another floor lamp. Not so keen on the other effects or colours as they are a bit tacky for my liking.

I'm super pleased with this lamp. You have the option to charge it with USB-C or the sun. We have mostly only used the sun. Holds it's charge well. I like the color and brightness options, really adds to the ambience of our outdoor patio, gives it a cozy feel at night while we watch tv or hang out by the fire. We also have the table lamp. I will bring them in if they warn of high winds but otherwise they stay outside and are still in great condition. I will bring them in for the (Chicagoland) winter. These are my favorite solar lamps so far.
