This breakfast sandwich maker is quick and easy to use. The sandwich maker is small but mighty and it doesn't take up a lot of space. Initially, I purchased this item for my husband because he likes to make and eat breakfast. He hasn't used it yet. I'm the excessive user of this quick, handy and easy to use sandwich maker. It's a great value for the price. I plan on purchasing a few more for gifting, as it would make a nice gift.

As soon as the item arrived (other than another issue that I have to take up with amazon itself) I opened my box and followed the instructions for how to clean it for the first time, and then threw together my first sammich. Four minutes worth of cooking (DOES NOT have a built in timer, so time it yourself) and my stuff went from 'random stuff I have been holding onto all weekend in eager anticipation of my sammich maker arriving'** to 'Breakfast Sammich!'. 4 minutes, plus one for preheating, and it magically turns stuff into food.I love this thing.HOWEVER: when it says to let it pre-heat, don't think 'I ain't got time for that!'..'Cause you do. it's less than a minute, and if you don't pre-heat, your egg will dribble everywhere, making an amusing but messy treat for the dog, who also greatly appreciated this new addition to our household.I fully recommend this. I'm going to see about making some breakfast-sammich-machine-minipizzas.(** - Seriously, I even pre-cooked and re-froze my bacon so I wouldn't have to cook it the day the appliance arrived.)Edit: May 16th: These things really need an on/off switch. As it turns out, my sammich maker is faulty alread. It just keeps getting hotter and hotter and hotter and then turns itself off altogether, and then won't turn on most of the time. However, prior to it going bonkers, it performed nicely and I have eaten at least four million breakfast sammiches.

Its fun but pretty and does make an OK egg muffin sandwich, but the lack of power switch ( plug in to turn on, unplug to turn off) is very annoying. There is a lot of exposed hot metal, so be careful around it and make use of the insulated plastic handles at all times. I do not like that it heats the muffin/bread/bun parts from the outside, i prefer the inside toasted sort of like a bagel where you toast the inside of the sliced bagel. Timing of the cooking is a bit of a challenge, i found 5 minutes got the bread part too toasted but the egg part well done. Do it for 3.5 minutes and the bred part is good but the egg is too runny. 4 and a bit gets me a mix of done egg and not burned bread. The size of the rings is annoying, I use large eggs and they spread kind of thin in the egg ring, they are bigger than the English muffins I have available so the egg hangs over the side, which I don't like.On the plus side it feels really sturdy and it cleans up easily (ONCE IT HAS COOLED DOWN).If you want real flexibility in making a breakfast sandwich and a good general more than one feature appliance i recommend the West Bend TEM500 or TEM4500, get the toast the way you want it, the eggs the way you want it, and it has power switches :)

I purchased this as a Christmas gift for my husband who is not handy in the kitchen or a cook by any means. The sandwich maker is so easy to use. It doesn't take very long to heat up - I used the time when it was heating up to cut the english muffin, get the eggs out, cut up some cheese slices etc. The first sandwich (and the ones I have made after that) turned out just perfect! I forgot to spray it with cooking spray which was recommended in the instructions but it still was so easy to clean up. It took less than a minute to clean. I love how its very compact in size so it doesn't take up too much space in my kitchen cupboard. I am looking forward to trying some new recipes with the sandwich maker with different types of cheese, veggies and lunch meat. When I opened the box there was an insert in addition to the instructions that had some useful tips and tricks for the use of the sandwich maker which I thought was really nice to have been included. This is a great small appliance to add to your collection - especially at the reasonable price point. I don't have kids but I am guessing kids would have a lot of fun making these as well!

This machine works good, does what it says. The only suggestion I have is do not use American style cheese (ie. Kraft cheese slices) because they liquify and make a mess. Still taste good, just messy. Also, the only thing I don't like is that the machine gets very hot and the metal parts are all exposed so it would be better if they were covered somehow. Then again, my frying pan isn't covered. Just be careful. The machine is surprisingly solid. I was a bit shocked at the excellent build quality. It does not feel like the cheap piece of junk I thought it might. It's sturdy, heavy, and solid. It heats up fast, maybe 2 or 3 minutes. The instructions say to cook the sandwiches for 4 to 5 minutes. I used a large size egg and cooked my first sandwich for 4 minutes. It came out runny, but edible. Kind of like a poached or soft boiled egg. The second sandwich I made I left it in for 5 minutes and the egg turned out perfect! Just like at Ronnie's! But, again, the cheese was runny. I will only use real cheese next time. I watched some videos online on how to use this machine and in each one of them it seems like the english muffins would come out over cooked/burnt. Mine did not at all. It came out nice and hot and soft, no burning at all. Remember to allow the machine to cool FULLY before washing it, especially the egg holder part, so it won't warp. All in all this is a fun machine to use. I don't know how much time it saves, really. Took about 20 minutes to make two sandwiches, but then again it was my first time using it so hopefully I'll get better with some practice. I recommend setting your microwave timer to 5:00 exactly. The egg turns out perfect! I have a feeling I'll be eating a lot of breakfast sandwiches over the next few days! Word of caution: be careful with this around kids/elderly. It gets HOT! They aren't kidding when they say that.
