Perfect for a kid’s journal. The lock is a bit difficult but not impossible.

The lock on this comes with 2 keys, which would be great if they actually worked. It barely unlocks with an adult trying for 5 mins, it's probably less productive than an actually lock pick set.

My 7 yr old son loves this. It made a great gift. He goes on "treasure hunts" with it.
