Not for use in drum sanders. Paper is lighter weight and will not hold up to RPMs of a drum sander. Also, isn't truly 3" wide, so after wraps, comes up short. Bought for my Jet 16/32 and tore after 1st use gouging my project. Don't make the same mistake I made, buy the Jet replacement paper.

I bought this for my drum sander. When I cut it using the old piece I noticed it was about an 1/8” narrower. I wrapped the drum and came up short on the take up clip. I had to leave gaps in wrap to make it work.

Great price as compared to precut oem drum sanding belts . So far they seem to be just as durable as the oem belts I have been using and they 50 percent less.

This sandpaper is 3-1/16” wide. I have a Grizzly drum sander and it requires 3” wide sandpaper. At over 3” it is too wide and cannot be secured at the ends as it ends up too long. I had to trim it to 3” in order to get it to fit.

I've been using this on my 22-44 drum sander for a few months (I teach guitar building and we use this sander on a daily basis) and have noticed a couple of issues when using this sandpaper. It is an emery cloth so it is much softer, thinner, and more flexible than standard drum sander rolls. At first I thought this was great as it was easy to install and did not roll up on you when cutting a new piece. The problems with this paper is when it is in use on the drum sander. it likes to "unwind" and overlap on top of itself. I think this is a result of it being thinner as well as more flexible. The "FIX". I have resorted to, for lack of a better word, "stretching" the paper out the last couple of wraps. In other words, leaving a 1/4" gap between the last few wraps so that it cannot overlap. Of course this requires cutting the ends slightly different but it has worked good so far.So, wood I recommend this product? Yes, IF IT IS CHEAPER. This is a 5 star paper as far as sanding ability and durability are concerned. As long as the price stays cheaper than the normal paper then I will buy it again. However, if I can find the normal stiffer paper for about the same price I will get the stiffer paper simply to avoid any overlapping issues.
