This is a fully functional tool, but it's just unpleasant to use. Everything (both the blades and the handle) just has an unfinished feel to it. I have pretty thick skin (har har) but to pick it up it just has that moment of "am I going to cut myself?" or "am I going to get a metal splinter?"The answer to both questions in the end is "no", because it's not really quite all that bad, but still makes it unpleasant. And also just the little details like:* the square blades go into a round hole. it does work with the set screw but you kind of have to start a flat side in the right direction so it tightens right.* to make matters worse, the hole is "bottomless" so while you're doing that you're also having to hover the blades so they don't fall into the tool's insides* and yeah, you could store the bits in the inside of the tool. but there's several issues with that too: (1) the cap doesn't really screw in/out like it LOOKS like you're supposed to do. you just have to tug on it until it suddenly pops open. (2) the blades just jostle around getting dinged up which doesn't seem ideal. and (3) the hex wrench you NEED to actually use the blades does NOT fit in the handle!! so you can't really just have this as a self-contained unit. [and I guess (4) would be since the hole is open *into* the hollow handle the bits could end up shaking **out** of the handle anyway… hope you like sharp things in random places!]So again, I feel a little bad being so harsh on this tool because it's got nice sturdy and sharp blades. I've been using it to tidy up plastic parts and unlike an x-acto knife you really CAN use it as a mini chisel. So it's a handy tool. It's just harsh on the hands….
